We are a nonprofit grow-for-donation farm in Brunswick, Maine.

We grow organic veggies with the help of many volunteers & donate them to our partner food pantries.

🚨 50 DAYS. $50K. LET’S DO THIS. 🚨

More than 23,000 Mainers have lost access to SNAP benefits over the past year, including 7,000 children. Food costs remain high, demand on food-access organizations continues to grow, and new federal changes are expected to shift millions more in SNAP costs onto Maine in the year ahead.

The pressure on our food system isn’t going away. We need to meet this moment.

Today, Growing to Give is launching 50 Days to $50K — our biggest year-end fundraising push yet.

Every dollar raised helps power the people, farm, seeds, supplies, and resources it takes to grow and distribute thousands of pounds of fresh, organic food to communities across Maine.

Please join us for a garden-bed building workshop on Wednesday, November 11 from 10AM-12PM! We'll discuss how to build garden beds from scratch and how to prepare the ground for winter. We'll have tools and garden gloves, but wear warm clothes and sturdy shoes! Suggested donation of $20. We hope to see you there!

Growing to Give has been selected as one of five beneficiaries of the 18th annual Yarmouth Art Festival! 🎨✨Stop by St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Yarmouth from Oct. 21st through Oct. 24th to view the stunning collection of artwork, or view the collection online by visiting the Yarmouth Art Festival website. Net proceeds from entry fees and sales commissions will go to Growing to Give and the other nonprofit beneficiaries!

We loved looking through the art collection online and seeing the array of beautiful landscapes, flower portraits, abstract art, block prints, and more! We will definitely be stopping by the festival this weekend to see these in person. There are more than 160 works of art from over 100 Maine artists...and one of them could be yours! 😍

Huge thank you to St. Bart's for selecting us to be included in this festival. 💚

Our first ever end-of-season contra dance was an absolute blast! 🥰🍁From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to everyone who turned out for this event (despite the gloomy weather)! We had so much fun celebrating the contributions of this year's volunteers, donors, and sponsors. We often say our farm runs on "volunteer power", and it's true! Every volunteer shift and every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. This year alone, we've grown and donated over 17,000 pounds of produce, all going to people in need across the state!

Thank you so much to Upmarket Mile for providing the sweet tunes and to Kathryn Larson for offering her incomparable calling skills to this dance! She even threw in a couple of dances we'd never tried before. 💃🏻

To our event sponsors, A Plus Party Rentals, Wild Oats Bakery & Cafe, and Hannaford Supermarkets--thank you! Our friends at Wild Oats & Hannaford provided some delicious treats for people to snack on (everyone was obsessed with the Wild Oats carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, in particular)! Huge thanks also to A Plus Party Rentals, who donated their event tent to us for the dance--we are so appreciative!

Today, we harvested a record-breaking 901 pounds of veggies! Giant rutabagas, hefty napa cabbages, and an abundance of butternut squashes definitely contributed to the total! 🫜🥬It was a busy morning trying to get everything washed, packed, and stored; as temperatures drop, we are in a race against time to get many of our crops out of the soil before they frost.🥶

Jeff, who picks up for the Androscoggin Gleaners each week, was so excited to show off his haul! We also took a little break towards the end of the morning to pose with some of the most impressive veggies--check out the massive Musquee de Provence pumpkin (also known as a Cinderella pumpkin)! Guess how much you think this pumpkin weighs in the comments below! 🎃

Fall is officially here and we’ve certainly felt it in the crisp morning air these past couple of weeks! Our onions and garlic are cured and we’ve now moved our pumpkins and squashes into the seedling house to cure. We’re also drying many of our cut flowers for future wreath and garland-making projects. We love the whimsical touch they’ve added to our tool shed! ✨Despite the changing temps, we’re still harvesting tomatoes, beets, and daikon radishes, just to name a few!

If you’d like to learn more about our unique grow-for-donation model, catch us at the Common Ground Fair in Unity tomorrow! We’ll be presenting from 4 to 5 pm in the Farm & Homestead tent. See y’all there! 🐓👩🏻‍🌾

Our Education Coordinator, Martha, simply can’t resist helping out on the farm when she has a few extra minutes! Today, she helped us wash and pack carrots and daikon radishes for donation. 🥕🫜 We’re obsessed with how vibrant these daikons are!

One of the things we love most about hosting school groups is seeing what each student takes away from their time here! We recently received the sweetest little booklet of student poetry from a Waldorf School class that visited this summer, complete with beautiful illustrations of flowers, veggies, and of course goats. This is just a small sample of what we received, and we are so thankful to all of the students in this class for their amazing artwork, creativity, and wise words! 🌷🐛🥬

It was such a joy to read through these. 🥰 Thank you to Maine Coast Waldorf School for sharing this with us!
