We were so thrilled for the opportunity spend time speaking with Jim LeBrecht. Jim is a co-director of the award-winning documentary, Crip Camp. He was also a camper at Camp Jened where he met a number of individuals who would later become disability rights power houses, such as Judy Heumann.

Jim continues his work today as a sound designer, contributing creatively to dozens of films as well as continuing to advocate for the disability community.

During our conversation, Jim spoke on the importance of community, that our legacy lives in everyone we mentor. It was a gentle reminder that we all have the capacity to empower others and create positive change. ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŽฅ

"It was very inspiring, a dream come true. He poured his love into that documentary and into us." Anna McDougal

We are honoring the memory of our supporter, landlord, and friend Andy Molloy. Andy had a big personality, and an even bigger heart. When Spindleworks Gardiner had to close during covid, Andy made sure the program found a home, and provided temporary space until we could move in. Always ready with a story, a solution to a problem, perspective into local history, and fierce support, Andy was one of our great champions; we will miss him.
