NEWS📢 The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) and Defence Australia (ADF) Space Command have formally endorsed a shared Space Vision Statement.
The agreement, signed by RNZAF Air Component Commander, Air Commodore Andy Scott, and ADF Space Commander, Major General Greg Novak, following inaugural space talks in Wellington recently, reinforces the long-standing Anzac partnership with Australia and reflects a shared commitment to delivering practical outcomes through closer co-operation in the space domain.
The statement highlights the growing importance of space to modern military operations, underpinning communications, navigation, intelligence, surveillance and command and control. As the strategic environment becomes more complex, New Zealand and Australia will continue to work together to maximise combined capability and protect our shared interests.
Key objectives set out in the statement include building personnel interchangeability, capability integration, operational readiness and working together on a domain approach to space operations.
