August was a very busy month for us and the department. Brownfield Day, pack inspections, hose testing in Fryeburg, two nights of pump training, Fit Testing and a lot of calls kept us on our toes this past month. We were asked to serve at a benefit dinner and for the annual Brownfield Denmark School cookout, members volunteered for both events! We also donated the use of our dunk tank for the benefit dinner.
We kicked off September with training alongside multiple departments at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds in preparation for the upcoming fair. We became familiarized with initial attack plans, hydrants on the grounds and using a LDH hydrant valve.
You see us when you need us. What you may not see is the hours and hours spent volunteering behind the scenes to make inspections happen, upkeep and testing. August was a reminder of how lucky we are to have dedicated people volunteer their time to get the jobs done.
