Join the Bridges to Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (REST) program, hosted by CHLDC in partnership with Kingsborough Community College!

📅 July 14–23 (6 sessions, including 1 virtual session)

Participants will explore careers in renewable energy, engage in hands-on learning, and gain access to scholarships, training opportunities, internships, and ongoing career support.

✅ Open to individuals 17.5 years and older who can attend all six sessions.

📣 Are you Latino or Afro Latino? Your voice matters.

Brown University is seeking participants for a research study exploring identity, politics, and representation in the United States.

If you are 18 or older and self identify as Hispanic, Latino/a/e, or Afro Latino/a/e, you're invited to participate in a confidential one hour interview in English or Spanish. Interviews can be completed in person in New York City or via Zoom.

✨ Participants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of two $25 gift cards.

🎓✨ Two weeks ago, our College Success Program team attended the annual NYSACAC Conference at Nazareth University, where they showcased the innovative work happening right here at CHLDC!

Erik Altorre and Genesys Salcedo presented on how our College Success Program is integrating college access and career readiness, empowering students to explore postsecondary opportunities while building the skills, confidence, and real-world experience needed for long-term success.

We're incredibly proud to see our team's leadership and forward-thinking approach recognized on a statewide stage as we continue creating meaningful opportunities for the young people we serve.

👏 A round of applause for all of the amazing performances at our Afterschool Expo!

We loved seeing our students take the stage and showcase everything they've learned and worked on throughout the year. From performances to creative projects, the event was a celebration of their hard work, talent, and growth.

A big thank you to all of the Youth and Family Services staff who helped organize and coordinate this special event. Your support helped make it a memorable day for our students and families.

The expo also featured a free book fair and an art display showcasing artwork created by students in our afterschool programs.

We're so proud of all that our students have accomplished this year and are grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! 💙

This Saturday, CHLDC hosted a Housing Town Hall to discuss SCRIE and DRIE. 🏡

A representative from Senator Brian Kavanagh's office presented their campaign on expanding SCRIE and DRIE benefits to more recipients. Increasing the income eligibility to $75,000.

Alongside, a presentation from CHLDC staff, covering other housing benefits community members may be eligible for.
