Commissioned Dance Production (CDP) Grant os out now!

CDP enables community members, or “art commissioners,” to fill gaps in American culture by awarding commissions to Queens artists. The program will fund $2,500- $10,000 to choreographers, dance artists, and small dance organizations to tell untold stories that highlight underrepresented protagonists. Applications will close April 30th. QCA will host 2 info sessions for CDP. The next session will be held on April 18, 2023 featuring former awardee .art. QCA Is offering a 10 week virtual financial literacy program powered by Flushing Bank, for artists, creatives, and youth ages 14-18. This free interactive program runs every Saturday and offers a $25 gift card for attending all 10 sessions. Register by 4/19/23.

The Poetry Night hosted by the Queens Council on the Arts was a success for many reasons. First and foremost, it was an opportunity for artists to share their work with the public, which is something that not many people get to do. Secondly, it was a way for people who don't usually attend poetry readings to be introduced to the art form in an inviting setting. Finally, it provided exposure for new artists.

The Poetry Night hosted by the Queens Council on the Arts was a success for many reasons. First and foremost, it was an opportunity for artists to share their work with the public, which is something that not many people get to do. Secondly, it was a way for people who don't usually attend poetry readings to be introduced to the art form in an inviting setting. Finally, it provided exposure for new artists who might not have other opportunities to showcase their work.

The Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1966. QCA is part of the Kaufman Arts District. This space is an exciting intersection of arts, commerce, media, advocacy and strategic networking for Queens arts and cultural institutions.
