God is Good

God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. He has a plan for those who are called by His name. When you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then God became your Father, and I believe that He is saying to you today that the best is yet to come.

Jeremiah 32:38-41 (NKJV)
38 "They shall be My people, and I will be their God;
39 "then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.
40 "And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.
41" Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.'"

With all that is going on in the world today it is hard to see the good that can come out of it, but He says this in His Word:

Romans 8:28 KJV
28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

One of the most dramatic stories ever written in the Bible is about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He gave His life so that we may be able to escape a fate worse than death, and that is spending an eternal torment in a place that is not even created for us called Hell. Jesus loves us some much that He took our shame upon Himself willingly to a place of torment and paid in full the requirements for our sins.

Thank You, Father, for Your unfailing love and Your goodness that You have shown towards us that we should be called a child of God. Thank You for delivering us from the snares of our enemies and have set before us a way out of the pain and the sorrow of sickness and death. Based on Your promises in Your Word I will receive all that You have provided for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Don’t Give Up on Your Dreams

Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He give power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increase the strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

There is power that comes with having a God-given dream. Don’t ever underestimate God’s ability to see you through to the other side, from having nothing to being able to fulfill the vision. Don’t quit now! You’ve come too far for that.

I told the Lord that I would do anything that He wanted me to do; just tell me what it is. Anyone know what I’m talking about here? I came out of a meeting one day and told the Father that I wanted to be like those preachers who would go anywhere you wanted them to go at a moment's notice. Just tell me where, and I’m on it. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
Be careful how you pray because God just might answer you. I no more prayed that prayer when I got a phone call from a friend asking me if I could go anywhere that I wanted to go, where would that be? After the initial shock I asked him why he asked me where I wanted to go. He said that he had an airplane ticket with my name on it, but it had to be used by that weekend.

Of course, I answered him with an immediately yes! NO! Instead, I said, "Can I get back with you in a few minutes?" Be encouraged, my friend. We have all had the opportunity to believe in the impossible things that are set before us. This lesson in learning how to hear the voice of God turned out to be incredible.
I was reminded several times that my friend had asked me where I wanted to go. I told the Lord that He got this backwards. He was supposed to tell me where to go. Then I got it. I got it! He had placed a desire in me where I wanted to go. I went to Chicago, Illinois to go to a bible study at brother Abraham's house.

There was a divine appointment waiting for me there as a young woman who had just gotten out of prison received Jesus in her heart and was baptized with the Holy Spirit. Her son and friend, who was out on the front porch, ran into the room crying and said, "I want what she got!" Praise God!

Thank You, Father, for renewing my dreams and visions with Your awesome power. I will wait upon You, Lord, in anticipation of You completing the work
that You started in me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Blessings on the journey and, remember, the best is yet to come, so keep looking for it.

reams and Visions
The Dream: The Rest of the Story

Acts 2:17
17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days," says God, "that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams."

When you search throughout the Bible, we can see that God has chosen to speak to His people through dreams and visions, saying that in the last days these would be on the increase. I believe that God meant what He said, and these Biblical experiences cannot be denied.

Yesterday I shared with you a dream that I had while I was preparing to go on a mission trip. In the dream there was a man that was threatening to kill my wife while holding a rifle on her. I learned a few days after arriving in Honduras that my wife had been diagnosed with cancer. I was thousands of miles away from home, and I tell you the truth, that I was ready to cancel my trip and go home. She told me that she knew that I was supposed to be there, and I needed to stay put. That was in 1996, and she is still alive today in 2019, cancer free! Praise God!

The dream had become an anchor for me to hold on to as God was bringing it to life. That dream has given birth to other ministries from those who have traveled with us over the years that are now working across the country with feeding programs, drug programs, orphanages, schools, crusades, and so much more than I have time to mention here.

Thank you, Father, for allowing me to dream with You as You reach into this nation showing Your generous and enormous love for the Hondurans. Help me to stay sensitive to Your plan and continue to touch lives with Your word. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Blessings on the journey and, remember, the best is yet to come, so keep looking for it.

So, Let's Look at Dreams

It's important to know what kind of dream we are discussing here. Someone might be dreaming about their future. Every great dream begins with a dreamer.
"Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." -- Harriet Tubman

This is not what I'm talking about here.

I’m not talking about the definition you would find from the scientific study of dreams called oneirology. It says that a dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.
I’m talking about the kind of dreams that comes by divine inspiration from God. You have a dream, and literally walk it out days later. For those that don’t believe in God, this makes no sense to them. But for me to dream about being somewhere, and then, days later, you are standing in the exact place that you saw in your dream is proof to me that God is real.

Acts 16:9-10 (NKJV)
9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.
Here's another testimony:

We were at the Lower Market in Honduras holding an outdoor meeting. A man came around the corner, and when he saw us, he fell to his knees weeping. I walked up to him, and he told me he had asked God if he was real. That night he had a dream that he saw us standing in the marketplace, playing music, and talking about how God is real. It had been over a year since we went to this place, so he had no idea that we would be there. He gave his life to Christ that day.

Thank You, Father for bringing us to that place to have this divine encounter. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey and, remember, the best is yet to come, so keep looking for it.

So, Let's Look at Visions

So, how important are dreams and visions in your life? They have saved my life on many occasions.

Testimony: Early one morning while getting ready to meet with some people about a possible job I had what I would call an "open vision." I was wide awake, and I saw this police officer walking down the courthouse steps. It was so real that I could describe him to you. He had a ticket book in his hand and was flipping it over to a new page. Then the vision was gone.
I didn’t know what it meant, but I had an alarm going off in me, so I began to pray in the spirit until I felt peace come over me about it.
After I left the house, I was almost hit by the driver's side of my car by an older gentleman. He had lost control of his car while attempting to pass me at a high rate of speed but hit an oncoming car head on and pushed them both into a ravine.
The officer that showed up on the scene was the one that I saw in the vision that morning.
I have no doubt in my mind that the devil was trying to kill me that day, but God choose to warn me by showing me this officer in a vision.

Acts 27:21-25
21 After the men had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up among them and said, “Men, you should have followed my advice not to sail from Crete. Then you would have averted this disaster and loss.
22 But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because you will not experience any loss of life, but only of the ship.
23 Just last night an angel of God, whose I am and whom I serve, stood beside me
24 and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And look, God has granted you the lives of all who sail with you.’
25 So take courage, men, for I believe God that it will happen just as He told me.

Father, who am I that I should tell You how You will give me instructions on impending danger that awaits me? Thank You for loving me enough that You would go beyond the natural way of directing me from harm with something that would shock me enough to wake me up to pray. Help us, Lord, to follow Your advice and to take courage in Your promise. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Blessings on the journey and, remember, the best is yet to come, so keep looking for it.

Just One More Thing About Visions

Acts 9:10-12 (KJV)
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

Testimony: I was sitting in a Full Gospel Businessmen's meeting, and the president of the organization said that there was someone there at the meeting that had a word from the Lord and asked that that person be obedient and please share it with us.

A man on the other side of the room stood up had begun to speak that word out, but something happened to me while he was speaking. It was like I had been completely removed from that place, and I saw someone that I knew standing before me.

His head was normal looking, but from the neck down you could see the shape of his body, and it was like looking through clear glass. There was a fracture that went completely around his body about waist high, and just below it, about a quarter inch, was water.

The Lord spoke to me saying that He had prepared him for such a time as this and told me that he had been wounded. He told me to call him and tell him not to quit. God still wanted to use him, and that man is still in the ministry today. This happened over 20 years ago. Praise God for dreams and for visions!

There is a fight going on all around us in the natural realm that we live in, and in the supernatural realm as well. Father, thank You for keeping us on the right road, and for sending us messages from heaven that keeps our feet from slipping so we can finish the fight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Blessings on the journey and, remember, the best is yet to come, so keep looking for it.

Angels, Are They for Real?

I was in a church down in McAlester, OK, on a Sunday morning, and one of the pastors there asked me if I had ever seen an angel. When I said yes, she got excited and wanted to hear more about it.
First, I would like to ask this question: what do you know about angels?

With Scripture we find here in Hebrews 13 that angels can look just like men.
Hebrews 13:1-2
1 Let love of the brethren continue.
2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Testimony: Moose was a man that we meet down at Mardi Gras one year. He was a police officer towered; I’m guessing around seven foot three or four inches. When you shook his hand, it was like grabbing a hold of a tree trunk. He was a massive man for sure and had a deep voice to go with at that.

We were looking for a place to set up our band, when he found out that we were a gospel band, well he cleared a place for us on the street corner; making sure that we did not block the sidewalk or emergency vehicles on the street. His squad car was parked right behind where we had set up at, and we started worshiping the Lord.
One man didn’t like our music, and he was cursing us and making hand jesters, so Moose grabbed the dude by the back of the neck. Then slammed him up against the wall, with his feet about two feet of the ground, cuffed him finally setting him on the ground. He walked away singing "This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine!" as he clapped his hands to the beat of our music.

We got lots of pictures of Moose and his squad car and were anxious to get them developed. This was before you could take pictures with a cell phone or anything like that. To our amazement, when we got the pictures back
there was not one of him or of his squad car. So, it looks to me like my angel's name could possibly be Moose.

Father, as we look into this matter a little closer this week, I ask that You will open our eyes to the truths that are found in Your Word. I believe Your Word sets the stage for things that are hidden from the natural man but are revealed to the spiritual man. So, thank You for speaking to us. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Blessings on the journey and, remember, the best is yet to come, so keep looking for it.

Angels Are Sent by God to Protect Us?

God protects us with His angels. As we finish this week talking about angels, I would like to make just a few more comments on this subject if I may.

In 2 Kings 6:15-17 angels surround a city to protect God’s prophet. So, angels play a role in protecting believers from bodily harm. The same is found in Psalm 34:7: “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him and delivers them.”

Here is a response from Carman, a good friend of mine, in response to yesterday’s devotion:

“Wow Wayne, we don’t hear a lot about angels but in Psalms 91:11 Amp says For He will command His Angels regarding you, to protect and defend and guard you in all your ways (of obedience and service) .

"They are real!!! I don’t, believe I’ve ever saw one but one time about 18 years ago I was praying fervently and crying before the Lord and all of the sudden I felt a firm hand on my right shoulder and I quickly turned and saw no one for I was alone in the room BUT I felt a sense of great peace and I knew that I knew I was not alone. It was encouraging to have a hand on my shoulder, encouraging me as I felt I was all alone fighting a battle of my life.

"That touch gave me the necessary strength I needed to continue to fight and pray in the Holy Spirit because that’s where the battles are won!!

Thank you for sharing it really blessed me and brought Psalms 91:11 to life.”

Father, as we move out of our comfort zones into the battles of a war waged against us, we thank You for sending us help through Your angels. Even though we may not see them, you still send them. We are open to Your instruction. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Blessings on the journey and, remember, the best is yet to come, so keep looking for it.
