Yesterday, Veterans Connected was honored to receive a $1,225 community grant from Walmart in Lyon Township.

These funds will go directly toward helping veterans and their families facing unexpected challenges throughout our community.

We are grateful to Jennifer and the entire Lyon Township Walmart team for their support of our mission and for recognizing the importance of serving those who have served our country.

Partnerships like this allow us to respond when veterans need assistance with housing, transportation, utilities, and other essential needs.

Every dollar received helps us provide real solutions when they are needed most.

Thank you to everyone who attended the celebration and helped make the day special.

Together, we are proving that connection is prevention and that no veteran stands alone. 🇺🇸

IMPACT STORY:
Hurricane Helene – Heart Transplant – No where Else to Turn

This week, Veterans Connected approved $3,000 to help a veteran remain in his home after a devastating chain of events following Hurricane Helene.

After the hurricane, the veteran lost homeowners insurance coverage due to provider service withdrawal in the area. Then, while hospitalized for a heart transplant, he learned that replacement coverage would also be canceled unless the roof was replaced.

Without insurance, the mortgage company imposed high-cost lender coverage, increasing monthly payments by more than $200.

Already facing serious medical recovery, the veteran used a mortgage payment and remaining available credit simply to purchase roofing materials in an attempt to save his home.

Despite having decades of roofing experience, he is currently physically unable to complete the repairs himself due to transplant recovery.

With nowhere else to turn, Veterans Connected stepped in to cover contractor costs so repairs can move forward, insurance can be reinstated, and this veteran can focus on healing instead of losing his home.

This is the impact your support makes.

Real veterans.
Real hardship.
Real assistance.
Real outcomes.

A huge Thank You goes out to and Lana Theis for their awesome work. Jason finished the day by calling and assuring us the 21st Annual Tip-Up for Troops will not need any fishing licenses. We still have room for boaters and Veterans so register today.

Many veterans and military families still do not know that Veterans Connected exists.

That means some may be facing housing issues, car repairs, utility shutoffs, or other urgent challenges without knowing there is a place to turn.

That is why Veterans Connected was created.

We exist to ensure that no veteran stands alone.

One of the easiest ways you can help is by leaving a review on Google or Facebook.

Reviews increase our visibility and help veterans and their families find us when they need support the most.

I recently left my own review because I have seen firsthand the real and immediate impact this organization makes in the lives of veterans and their families.

If Veterans Connected has helped you, inspired you, or earned your support, please take a few minutes to share your experience.

Tip Up for Troops is more than a fishing event.

It is a day of connection, community, and support for veterans and guest.

Fishing, food, prizes, and memories are all included at no cost.

No fishing license is required.

Veterans are welcome to bring their families.

Whether you fish regularly or have never picked up a rod, you are invited to spend the day with others who understand the value of connection.

For many veterans, a day on the water provides peace, conversation, and a reminder that they are not alone.

Registration closes May 30.
