Our 3rd Quarter Client of the Quarter Testimony
"I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. I had a good childhood. I was blessed with a loving family, a good school, and the opportunity to play sports. Life was good.
At 16 years old, I started using drugs. What started as something I thought was fun quickly turned into something that controlled my life. Over the years, I used co***ne and other drugs, and my life became a cycle of addiction, broken relationships, jail, losing jobs, and making decisions that hurt the people I loved.
I became dishonest, isolated myself, and lived in darkness. I was depressed, angry, hurt, and completely out of control. I was not the father, son, or man I wanted to be. I hurt my family and made choices I deeply regret.
On May 2, 2025, I went to jail. That was the last time I smoked crack co***ne, and I give God all the glory for that.
Romans 12:2 says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” God began changing my life, one day at a time. I spent six months at 201 Poplar, and now I am here at Safe Harbor, also known as the Lighthouse.
A lighthouse helps guide a lost ship safely back to shore. I believe that is what God is doing for me through recovery. He is guiding me back home.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us that two are better than one because when one falls, another can help him up. Recovery is not weakness. Recovery is learning to lean on God and on healthy people who want to see us succeed.
To my brothers who are struggling today: don't give up. Lean on God. Ask for help. Keep moving forward.
1 Corinthians 10:13 reminds us that God is faithful and will always provide a way out when we are tempted.
I am thankful for my brothers and sisters at Safe Harbor and for the entire staff for allowing me to share a piece of my story.
My prayer is that we stay together, know God, find freedom, discover our purpose, and make a difference.
