- 🎉🎉Jelly Roll 💛✨

Almost two months ago, Jelly Roll came into our care after his story was revealed to us; he was paralyzed from the back and likely the result of severe head injury from ab*use 💔 He was scheduled for humane euth*anasia. 💔

Thanks to a series of incredible people, dedicated rescue volunteers, and a whole lot of determination, Jelly was given a second chance. He was rescued and brought into BARC’s care, and we immediately called on Jen to foster him. Why Jen? Because when we have an extreme medical case, she’s the person we turn to. ❤️

With Jen’s help, Jelly received the veterinary care he desperately needed. And from that moment on, this boy’s story began to change.

Through consistent love, affection, proper nutrition, medication, therapeutic interventions, and Jen’s unwavering dedication, Jelly went from barely functioning to absolutely THRIVING! 🥹🙌🏻✨

Jen was determined to get him healthy, help him reach his full potential, and prepare him for the forever home he deserved. She wanted him to have the chance to live his very best life. And we knew that, when the time came, we’d find the perfect family for him.

WELP… WE FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME!!! 🎉🎉🎉

🥁🥁🥁 IT’S JEN!!! 🥹😭❤️🙌🏻⭐️✨

That’s right! Jelly Roll has officially been adopted by his very own foster mom, our beautiful friend, adopter, advocate, and longtime BARC supporter, Jen! 🐾💛

Sometimes, the person who helps a dog find his way back to life is the very person who’s meant to spend the rest of that life by his side.

Jen said YES without hesitation when we asked her to foster. She fought for him, nurtured him, and helped him become the thriving, happy boy he is today. And somewhere along the way, he found his way straight into her heart. ❤️

Congratulations, Jelly Roll!

Thank you, Jen, for being the kind of person who changes lives — and for proving that sometimes the happiest ending is the one that was right in front of us all along. 😭❤️✨ Jen Hemlockhill

HAPPY FOREVER, JELLY ROLL!!! 🐾🏡💛

Very special thanks to K for always helping and making life better for so many animals⭐️

Thank you T, K, L and A❤️❤️❤️

home found for CRICKET!
Thanks so much to EVERYONE who applied, donated, inquired and sent messages and comments with positivity and support! Cricket is now with his foster mom —who fully plans on making Cricket a forever part of the family!

Cricket’s now living in a wondering home with 6 acres of land to explore and play—along with his 3 other (nearly identical) brother and sisters! His mom is diehard member of the “little white fluffy dog” club 😂

We can’t wait to see Cricket flourish in this kind of setting with all the love and care he deserves!

Amelia, we promised that your precious doggy would be safe and I’m happy say we kept our word!

Follow for more updates!

Happy life, Cricket!! We love you so much ###

Very special thank you to Rachel B, Catherine O, Wanda, Mark, Nik, Tracy and his foster mom, Jeanine for going above and beyond for Cricket. 🙏✨❤️🫶🏼🥳

📍CT- This is a serious emergency 🚨 Everybody wants BARC CT to rescue the dogs from awful situations, but then nobody steps up to foster 🤦‍♀️ OR adopt!

We. Are. Begging.

1) Cricket is about 6 years old,
13 lbs. Good in the crate. Eager to learn and eager to please. He’s good with other dogs, so sweet to everyone that he meets. A joy to have around. Loves walks and naps. *Will be soon be neutered and get dental care covered by BARC.
Apply: BARC-CT.org/foster or BAR -CT.org/adoption

Cricket is available to foster or adopt or foster-to-adopt • If out of state, Adoption only

2) Ziggy is about 6-8 years old, possibly younger. Eager to learn and eager please! Loves boundaries and direction. Good with other dogs esp after time to adjust. Crate trained and loves his crate. Definitely Yorkie personality and can be stubborn until he knows you’re the leader of the pack! He is cautious with everyone at first and then becomes your best friend. Active but also very chill. He was adopted and returned (not his fault, at all. Adopter situation changed) Neutered, up to date, microchipped and healthy.
Apply:
BARC-CT.org/foster or BAR -CT.org/adoption

Ziggy is available to foster or adopt or foster-to-adopt
• If out of state, Adoption only

As a foster, BARC CT can provide food and a loaner crate if you do not have one. Please do not let that stand in the way of fostering.

*Please remember NO MINORS living in the home. No out of state fosters. No renters. These restrictions are enforced due to regulations & insurance.

Please have some small dog experience. Please include your vet contact info somewhere on the foster app!!

🙏 thank you

Another day and another EMERGENCY! It’s been a crazy week and our sweet Tessa cannot catch a break. Tessa is very sick. She’s been through hell. We’ve spent so much money (that we do not have) on doctors, special food, medications, and specialists but this time, we can’t do it without your help. It’s beyond what we can do anymore for this poor dog.

We have an estimate in the comments. Over $1500

Please consider a $5 donation because we truly don’t know how much longer we can keep her going. No one has been able to pinpoint exactly what’s happening to her. The vets we have seen are trying everything.

Unfortunately we only get 15% off (as reflected in the estimate) but we’re scrambling to try and help this innocent dog we vowed to care for until she can be adopted.

Please help by making a 5% right now

Venmo:

Zeffy or credit card:
BARC-ct.org/donate

PayPal: [email protected]

Please keep Tessa in your prayers today 😢🙏

CT - URGENT ‼️ FOSTER or ADOPTER NEEDED NOW ‼️‼️ Little Cricket was rescued, but has NO WHERE to go. It’s not fair. ☹️

Nobody came. 💔

Cricket is unbelievably adorable both in looks and personality.😍

He LOVES being around (and learning from) another gentle dog.

He loves his person or people and is the happiest boy when sleeping in a doggy bed or in his crate but with a human in his sight🥹 He just needs a little help with learning to feel safe when alone.

He loves kibble and water with ice cubes, sometimes soft jerky treats.

He LOVES long walks on a leash, sniff time, car rides. He’s very energetic but also goes with the vide of the household and will chill and nap throughout the day.

BARC CT will be paying for his neuter, microchip and dental. He is healthy otherwise.

He’s very good about sticking to a potty schedule and does not like to make a mistake. He will go to the door to fidget in his crate when he has to potty. Once outside he does his business quickly.

Please apply RIGHT NOW because he’s going to boarding this Friday if the right foster is not found by tomorrow. Please be sure you are 💯 committed to fostering Cricket AND you can take him on Friday morning.

BARC-CT.org/foster
**** please note on the app if you also have interest in adopting Cricket.

To adopt (you’ll “foster” until we complete his vet care:
BARC-CT.org/adoption

Per organization policy:
No kids
No renters
No out of state foster

💙 A MILLION THANK-YOUS TO VERIZON WIRELESS ZONE GIVES & KATHY SAKSA! 💙

We’ve said it before, but we could never say it enough: Kathy Saksa and Verizon Wireless Zone Gives mean the world to BARC CT! 🐾❤️

Kathy is so much more than an incredible rescue partner. She is a wonderful friend who has continued to stand beside us, support our mission, and help us make a difference in the lives of animals who desperately need us. We are beyond grateful to have her in our corner!

Pictured here is Kathy with a few members of our BARC CT team as we celebrate receiving our most recent $2,000 grant award from Verizon Wireless Zone Gives! 🎉🐶

This generosity makes a very real difference for our rescue, helping us provide critical veterinary care for animals in need and giving us the ability to say YES when another animal needs our help. Every dollar means so much, and this support helps keep our mission moving forward.

Kathy, thank you for being such a dedicated advocate for BARC CT and for caring so deeply about the work we do. Your friendship, commitment, and continued efforts to help us secure this funding mean more than words can express.

And to Verizon Wireless Zone Gives, thank you for investing in our mission and helping us continue to save lives!

Thank you a million times over, Kathy and Verizon Wireless Zone Gives! 💙💙
