Last Friday, June 12th, while our Rookie Camp was going on our department was dispatched for an Auto Accident that was on fire at the intersection of James Madison Hwy and Hubbards Rd.

While units were in route to the scene it was upgraded to an Auto Accident with Entrapment. Units arrived on scene and quickly extracted the patient and into the waiting helicopter from Aircare 6.

We thank all the other agencies that helped out.

πŸ”₯ Junior Rookie Camp 2026 – Day 5 (Final Day)! πŸ”₯

What a way to wrap up an incredible week at Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department’s Junior Rookie Camp!

Our rookies spent their final day putting their skills to the test and having a blast along the way. From washing trucks and navigating the WPE course, to crawling through the smoke maze, learning about vehicle airbag safety, and competing in a water relay, the day was packed with hands-on firefighter experiences.

Of course, no final day would be complete without some fun! The campers cooled off with water games and got soaked by the deck gun before celebrating an amazing week with pizza and plenty of smiles.

We are incredibly proud of every rookie who showed up ready to learn, work hard, and challenge themselves throughout the week. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers, instructors, and supporters who helped make Junior Rookie Camp 2026 a success.

Who knows? We may have met some future Brandy Station firefighters this week! πŸš’πŸ’¦πŸ‘

πŸš’ 2026 Junior Rookie Camp – Day 3! πŸš’πŸŒ§οΈ

A little rain wasn’t going to stop this crew!

Our Junior Rookies braved the wet weather today and tackled another action-packed day of firefighter training. From testing their skills in the Smoke House Search & Rescue and Maze Trailer, to climbing Tower 1 and working with ladders, these future firefighters showed determination, teamwork, and a willingness to push themselves outside their comfort zones.

The day also included wall breach and forcible entry demonstrations, followed by a RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) drill inside the firehouse. Every station challenged the rookies to think, communicate, and work together just like real firefighters.

Rain or shine, these young men and women continue to impress us with their hard work, positive attitudes, and dedication to learning. We are proud of the effort they bring each and every day!

πŸ”₯ Keep up the great work, Rookies β€” the adventure isn’t over yet! πŸ”₯

πŸš’ Rookie Camp 2026 is officially underway! πŸš’

Day 1 at Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department was packed with learning, teamwork, and plenty of excitement as our junior members began their Rookie Camp journey.

The day started with orientation, crew assignments, and getting fitted with PPE, because every firefighter needs the right gear before the real fun begins! From there, the rookies rotated through stations covering Fire Prevention, Engine and Rescue familiarization, Fire Extinguishers, and Work Performance Evaluations.

There were lots of questions, lots of laughs, and even more learning as these future firefighters got their first taste of what it takes to serve their community.

We’re excited to watch this group grow throughout the week and can’t wait to see what Day 2 brings!

πŸ”₯ Building future firefighters.
πŸš’ Building teamwork.
πŸ’ͺ Building confidence.

Stay tuned for more Rookie Camp updates!

This morning, our community suffered a heartbreaking loss as a fire impacted Zandra’s and The Culpeper Machine Shop.

The members of the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department extend our thoughts and support to the owners, employees, families, and everyone affected by this devastating event.

The Culpeper Machine Shop has been a tremendous supporter of our department for many years, always willing to lend a helping hand and support the volunteer fire service. Today, we stand with them and with the entire Zandra’s family as they begin the difficult road ahead.

One thing we know about Culpeper is that we take care of our own. Time and time again, our community has come together in times of need, and we have no doubt that the same spirit of generosity, resilience, and support will shine through once again.

Please keep everyone affected in your thoughts, and when opportunities arise to support these local businesses and their employees, we encourage our community to rally around them.

Our small businesses are the heart of this community, and when one of them hurts, we all feel it. Now is the time for us to come together and show the strength that makes Culpeper such a special place to call home.

Culpeper is strong. Culpeper stands together. And together, we will help our neighbors rebuild. β€οΈπŸš’
