🚨 CALLING ALL 814 PROUD! 🚨

On August 14, we’re rolling up our sleeves and giving back to the place we call home during United Way’s inaugural 814 Day of Action! 💙

Whether you’re volunteering solo, teaming up with a friend, bringing your family, or organizing your coworkers, there’s a place for everyone to make a difference. Together, we’ll complete service projects throughout our community and celebrate what makes the 814 so special - neighbors helping neighbors.

Rain clouds couldn’t keep our little ones away! ☔🌻

We kicked off our first Summer in the Park today, and over 6️⃣5️⃣ children joined us for a fun-filled morning at the park.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Bonnie from the Bradford Area Public Library for reading a story and teaching the kids how to plant sunflower seeds, and to Mr. Gavin and Mrs. Emily from the YMCA for leading some energetic seed relay races.

Kids also went home with:
📚Free children’s books from the Kiwanis Club of Bradford
📖 Free teen books from the library
🍪 Free snacks provided by the City of Bradford’s Neighborhood Partners Program
🍦Free ice cream from Bradford Alliance Church

We even had a special guest appearance from United Way Board President Harry Solarek 👑

It truly takes a community to create mornings like this, and we are so grateful to all of our partners, volunteers, and families who made our first Summer in the Park a success. We can’t wait to do it again next week!

To kickstart the very FIRST adoption of the United Way Blessing Box at Burns Memorial Park, Learn Love Laugh Child Care Center has stepped up to help! 💙

Led by Rachael Hayden, the caring staff, children, and families are collecting food and personal care items throughout the month to help keep the Blessing Box stocked for neighbors in need.

This is what small-town community is all about—teaching kindness, helping others, and taking care of one another.

Donations can be dropped off all month at the Blessing Box, Learn Love Laugh Childcare Center (32 N. Kendall Avenue), or the United Way office on Main Street.
