Member Sam Helton reports the following.

What a great weekend for Poppy!
In a cold and rainy Shippensburg, PA today Poppy went Best of Breed and OHBOB in a lovely line up of girls for her third Grand Champion major! Thank you to judge Judy M Roller for picking my girl.

In just 7 shows as a special Poppy has 15 grand champion points, 2 Best of Breeds and 3 Best Opposites, all 3 GCH majors and 5 champion defeats.
I am so crazy proud of her!

Congratulations to Sam and Poppy!

We are pleased to recognize Milo (GFC3 DC Houndarosa Tried and Ahroo Milo MHE) for an excellent showing in the field. He earned First Place in the Champion Class at the Valley Forge Basset Hound Club Field Trial, held at the Wyoming Valley Beagle Club on September 12.

Field trials are an important part of preserving the purpose and heritage of the Basset Hound. Bred as a scent hound, the Basset is valued for its ability to follow a trail with determination, sound judgment, endurance, and a strong working instinct. Field competition helps showcase and preserve these natural qualities while honoring the function for which the breed was originally developed.

Congratulations again to Sam and Ben of on this well-earned accomplishment and on representing the working heritage of the Basset Hound so well.

We’re excited to celebrate our members Stormy Goodbar and Greg Goodbar and their girls, Solo and Spyder, on a successful trip to Iowa in late September!

At the two Greater Minneapolis St. Paul Basset Hound Club specialties on Friday, 6½-month-old Solo was Winners Bitch at both shows, earning two majors. Spyder also had a strong day, earning Select Bitch at both specialties.

On Saturday at the supported entry, Solo continued her impressive weekend by going Reserve Winners Bitch, while Spyder showed beautifully in a competitive lineup.

Congratulations to our member and to Solo and Spyder on a fantastic weekend. We’re always proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our club members and their hounds!
