We are so grateful for the incredible support from the Woodland Church Youth Group Volunteers!

This amazing group showed up ready to serve and made a meaningful impact for The Food Bank of Manatee-Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee. The boys kicked off the day by helping pack potatoes—ensuring fresh, nutritious food gets to those who need it most. Meanwhile, the girls brought creativity and heart to our mission by painting beautiful bowls for our upcoming Empty Bowls Event on November 13, 2026.

The energy, compassion, and willingness of these young people to give back truly makes a difference in our community. Thank you Woodland Church for helping us fight hunger and bring hope to our neighbors. We couldn’t do this important work without you!

Plan ahead to support local families facing food insecurity this summer!

Visit Lazy Lobster or Kacey's Seafood on Fruitville Road or Lockwood Ridge Road June 22–26 and bring five or more non-perishable food items to help neighbors in need. In appreciation, each donor will receive $10 in Lobster Loot or Kacey's Kash to use toward a future visit. Every item collected goes directly to support local families during the summer months.

The Food Bank of Manatee-Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee has received a generous $50,000 matching gift commitment from local philanthropists Sara and Steve Bayard to help provide food for children and families facing hunger during the summer months.

While the need for assistance typically rises during the summer months, charitable donations traditionally decline, creating additional challenges for local hunger-relief efforts. To help bridge this gap, ❤️Sara and Steve Bayard have pledged to match every donation made in support of the Food4Families program, dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000. ❤️

“Cereal”-ously, Let’s Tackle Summer Hunger!

Nothing says summer fun like a big bowl of cereal—and a little silliness, too! 😛 Our young friend is showing off his playful side with a mouthful of Loops, reminding us that every kid deserves moments like this… even when school cafeterias are closed for the summer.

But for many children in our community, summer can mean missing dependable meals. That’s where YOU come in. 💛

We’re collecting cereal to help fill the gap and ensure local kids have easy, kid-friendly breakfasts all summer long. It’s a simple way to make a BIG difference!
