I wonder how many folks in our neighborhood know that there is another tall cell tower that is very close to being finished, just on the southeast side of I75 off of the 4900 block of Lena Road - it is only about a mile from the south end of Braden River Ranches, as the crow flies. It is owned by American Tower Corp; I found it on the website www.antennasearch.com, and since I was doing errands in the general area, I decided to drive over there to get a look at that tower. I would estimate it to be maybe a little shorter - or maybe closer to the 115’ height, it’s hard to tell - as the one proposed in our neighborhood. It was approx 5:40pm today when I pulled into the parking lot of a small commercial plaza called Creekwood Commons East; there was an active crane & workers on sight and it looks like all that is left is to mount the top part that transmits the signals. This is the type of area (commercial) that is more appropriate for a tower, however there are folks in nearby Creekwood homes that are only separated by I75.

I am posting this, with a couple of pics, for three reasons - 1. in case someone was curious to see what a similar tower looks like 2. In case someone wants to know exactly where it is in relation to our neighborhood and 3. to question if another tall cell tower is really necessary in our area once this preceding tower is functional. However, I have no idea how far the typical broadcast range is for these cell towers - we need to know what bands and frequencies are being transmitted before we can properly research this subject.
