BYEP 10th graders recently embarked on their first BYEP overnight at Spire Rock! 🌀

Things we experienced...
-Became grill masters and ate burgers 🍔
-Sheltered in our tents from a storm ⛺️
-Went on a rain walk 🌧️
-Bonded over smores and fire 🍫
-Hiked Ousel Falls and swam in the water 🐸
-Lived, laughed, and loved ❤️‍🔥

Last week at BYEP, participants and their mentors spent the week exploring the Gallatin Valley alongside incredible community partners - getting their hands dirty, giving back, learning new skills, and making plenty of memories along the way.

From conservation and wildlife to farming, service, and even salsa dancing, every workshop was a chance to connect with our community and each other. 🤝

We kicked off the week with Gallatin Conservation District , where participants learned about aquatic invasive species and harvested fresh veggies from the beautiful community garden. 🌱🥕

Participants spent time cleaning up trash at Bozeman Beach and the Gallatin River - giving back to the places that give us so much! 💚

We traded hiking boots for dancing shoes and learned some salsa moves! 💃 Nothing brings people together quite like trying something new (and laughing through it together).

We visited MT Raptor Conservation Center to meet some incredible feathered ambassadors and learn about the important role raptors play in Montana’s ecosystems.🦅

Together with Grow Wild, we spent the day removing invasive weeds from DNRC land, helping protect native habitats while giving back to the public lands we love.

To top it all off, we visited Amaltheia Organic Dairy where participants met the goats, learned about goat dairy production, and got a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a local farm. 🐐❤️

Last week, a group of intrepid adventurers set forth on the White Cliffs section of the Missouri River.

Our group, The Mudskippers, had the opportunity to paddle, hike, and explore this incredible landscape.

Highlights included campfire laughs, frequent swims, and slot canyon exploration!

This experience would not have been possible without the help of , thank you MWS for your dedication to getting Montana youth out into the great outdoors.

This summer, we expanded our workshop schedule, giving teens the chance to join us up to five days a week and we’ve been making the most of every minute!

From trails and rivers to creative projects and plenty of laughs, we’ve spent more time together, more time outside, and more time building the kind of friendships and confidence that make summer unforgettable.
