SOKY Alliance BG Teen is an opportunity for teens to socialize in a safe, fun, inclusive & supportive space. You belong here!

SOKY Alliance fosters community, builds support, and promotes advocacy for our local LGBTQ+ community through programming, educational opportunities, and resource connections. Each meeting will be a time for teens to be themselves, meet others and just have some fun. BG Teen is open to all high school teens regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, s*xual orientat

ion, national origin, genetics, disability, etc, etc, etc. And while we're at it, we'll use this page to promote other local opportunities for teen involvement.

🍛We're trying out a first time BG Teen theme...

Our Sept. 8 meetup will a Chopped Challenge! We'll divide into teams, each one getting a basket of ingredients and a shared pantry of items, to create a dish which will be critiqued by our own panel of judges. This should be a fun and definitely not at all chaotic way to learn some basic cooking skills and teamwork.

BG Teen is for LGBTQ+ middle and high schoolers. No sign-ups required.

🪡 Let's get crafty! We're partnering with the Oracle Arts Council for a new program for adults!

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 9, we'll be meeting monthly from 4:30-7:30pm at the Bob Kirby Library.

For this first meeting, bring a craft and socialize as we conjure future workshop ideas where you can learn a new craft or skill at each meeting upcoming meeting.

Grief over the loss of celebrities may seem silly to some, but it’s still valid. We are all affected by the work and energy - the art, the outreach, the personalities - that people put out into the world. We’re sad over the loss of Dolly Parton and Tim Curry, but we’re so grateful for the legacies they leave. RIP, beautiful souls.
