Do you want a data center in Bowling Green?

Let’s tell Mayor Todd Alcott, Commissioner Sue Parrigin, and Commissioner Melinda Hill to please stop making decisions without holding public work sessions where Bowling Green residents can ask questions and raise their concerns.

Let's thank Commissioners Beasley-Brown and Bailey for standing up for due diligence, for urging that lawmakers take adequate time to make decisions that affect our land, water, and our energy costs, and for recognizing that democracy requires that we listen to the people we serve.

Please send an email to all members of the Bowling Green City Commission and ask them to reconsider the municipal order proposed by Commissioners Beasley-Brown and Bailey to issue a six-month moratorium on data-center related applications, building permits and/or zoning variances, and business registrations for the construction of data centers. This will allow time for community learning, input, and due diligence.

Next, join us at City Hall for the next meeting of the Bowling Green Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, June 16 at 4:30 pm, when they will take the final vote on data center zoning regulations. Let's organize and make our voices heard!

Yesterday ​I had the privilege of talking with some incredible young people about what ethics and justice really mean. We talked about how your character matters far more than your job title. To me, justice isn’t just what happens in a courtroom. It’s also about how you treat people when you’re the one with the power. Ethics is doing the right thing, keeping your word and showing integrity even when no one is watching. I left the room inspired, knowing there is so much potential in this next generation.
