A NEW MURAL IS COMING TO BOONTON!

After more than a year and a half of searching for the perfect location and reviewing numerous artist submissions, we’re excited to bring a new mural to our town!

With an ode to Old Boonton, a nod to Boontonware, and a welcoming spirit that embraces everyone, this mural will celebrate the history, character, and community that make Boonton so special.

We’re thrilled to be working with artist Jenna Morello, whose work you may already recognize from the iconic leaf mural created in collaboration with Boonton Arts. Jenna’s work reaches audiences around the world, including a recent 60-foot mural in Times Square!

We can’t wait for you to see what’s coming. Stay tuned for the big reveal! 👀🎨

Meet Natalie Spingold, Executive Director of Boonton Main Street and another dedicated member of our BID Exploration Steering Committee!

Natalie brings more than 20 years of experience as a Director of Sales and Marketing in the wholesale fashion industry, working with thousands of Main Street retailers nationwide. She also owned multiple retail locations in Providence, Rhode Island, for nearly eight years, where she ran her own Main Street Association.

A Boonton resident who first joined BMS as a volunteer more than five years ago, Natalie wanted to be part of the growth and success of the community she calls home. Three years ago, she was nominated to serve as Executive Director, a role she continues to approach with pride and dedication.

Natalie’s extensive experience in retail, marketing, and brand building brings valuable perspective to the exploration of a Business Improvement District (BID) for Boonton.

As we continue this conversation, we’re introducing the people helping explore what a BID could mean for our downtown. Learn more, stay informed, and be part of the conversation as we look toward the future of Boonton’s Main Street.

A guitarist who played with the Misfits and Joan Jett runs a horror themed coffee shop on Boonton's Main Street.

Catfight Coffee was started in 2020 by Acey Slade and his wife Meiling as an online roaster when the pandemic shut down their careers. Now it has a shop at 616 Main Street, decked out in horror decor.

The shelves carry officially licensed Misfits, Alice Cooper, Mastodon and Vampira coffees, and the fall menu leans into Halloween all season.

Our November issue is here, and it’s filled with gratitude, community, and love for the place we call home. 💛

For our Give Thanks issue, we wanted to celebrate the many ways people make a difference, and our cover feature is a beautiful reminder of what that looks like close to home.

Lauren Moran shares her connection to Boonton and the people and organizations that bring its community to life. From Boonton Main Street and Boonton Recreation to the Elks, the fire department, and the volunteers working behind the scenes, so much care goes into the events, places, and traditions that bring neighbors together.

And as our editor Alison Lukin writes, giving back can take many forms, and even the smallest acts can have a lasting impact. Visit a local business, attend an event, volunteer when you can, or simply check on a neighbor. Every time we show up for one another, our community grows a little stronger.

Meet Scott A. Broadfoot, owner and curator of Broadfoot & Broadfoot, A Collection of Fine Art, which opened in 1992.

In 2022, Scott and Sean Holzli purchased 819–821 Main Street to establish a permanent home for the gallery right here in Boonton. Scott chose Boonton because of its vibrant community and the unique energy, character, and appreciation for the arts that make our town so special.

As part of our BID Exploration Advisory Board series, Stories like Scott’s help showcase what makes Boonton unique and why investing in the future of our Main Street matters.

Meet another business owner on our BID Exploration Advisory Board: Sean Holzli!

Sean is the co-owner of Broadfoot & Broadfoot, A Collection of Fine Art, a Boonton staple since 1992. In 2022, Sean and Scott A. Broadfoot invested in Boonton’s future by purchasing 819–821 Main Street and establishing a permanent home for the gallery.

Sean chose Boonton for its vibrant community, unique character, and strong sense of connection. His investment reflects what makes our town special and why supporting the future of our downtown matters.

As we explore the possibility of a Business Improvement District (BID), we’re introducing the local business/building owners and community leaders helping us learn, ask questions, and explore what this could mean for Boonton.
