Troop One helped clean the OLMC Cemetery on Wootton Street recently. Removing any trash and old decorations helps ensure the cemetery is ready for Easter and Spring. OLMC is the Troop's charter organization and we appreciate all their support.

Troop One will be at First Friday this week to sell fresh Christmas Wreathes and Grave Blankets. This year, the Scouts decorated the wreathes themselves and they look amazing! This is the Troop's only fundraiser every year. It helps to provide the essential supplies the Troop needs to function. Look for the Scouts by the old Maxfield's building (By Roma Pizza). Thank you to Boonton Main Street for including the Troop.

Troop One members recently participated in the Silas Map Adventure Orienteering Competition. Our team finished in 7th place out of 50 teams and was the Scout team to finish! Way to go Troop One!

For our second camping trip of the Fall, the Troop visited the Coast Guard Facility in Cape May, NJ. The Scouts received a tour of the facilities and vessels and also went to the NAS Wildwood aviation museum. There was a closely-contested softball game player and the rain may "rearranged" a few tents as well. Sunday's breakfast in the mess hall was fantastic.

The Troop had a fantastic time this past weekend skiing at Belleayre Mountain and camping at Trimount Scout Camp. All the boys seemed to have a blast skiing and snowboarding even with the cold wind and snow in the afternoon. They also did a great job cooking in a bit of winter weather Saturday night. The ski trip has quickly become one of the more popular scout trips.

Snow? Below freezing temperatures? Sounds like camping and fishing weather!! The Troop visited Camp Minsi in the Poconos last weekend. In addition to Tabin camping (1/2 tent/ 1/2 Cabin), the Scouts learned about and went ice-fishing.

Troop 1 went to the Jersey Jamboree this past weekend at the Sussex County Fairgrounds. Over 5,000 Scouts participated and saw demonstrations by the National Guard, Law enforcement and had a bit too close for comfort Blackhawk helicopter flyover!!
