There are children who cannot remain with their families because of severe abuse and neglect. When children and families have difficulties, help must be given.

San Mar TFC is seeking families who can provide a safe and nurturing home where these children may begin to heal from their past traumas. Only after every effort is made to work out the problems, and it is determined the child’s welfare is in jeopardy if he or she continues to live with the family, should a separation be made. At the time of separation we believe that each child must have his or her total needs met. Because of the traumatic experiences separation involves, professional help is needed to allow a healthy processing of personal feelings and fears. We believe that most healthy families, with strong training and ongoing support, are capable of learning how to provide a therapeutic (healing) environment for a child in need.

Throughout the month of November, San Mar TFC wants to highlight our team members and introduce you to a few new faces!

First up, Abby is the Director of Treatment Foster Care. She is originally from Hagerstown and loves spending her days off shopping, exploring thrift stores, or relaxing on the couch with a good TV binge. She's also a proud cat mom to Zola and Gloves! Zola has a personality all her own, greeting Abby at the door, following her around the house, and even playing fetch like a dog!

Here are a few fun facts about Abby:
Drink of Choice: Coffee from just about anywhere, as long as there's flavored creamer and sugar
Currently Watching: The Traitors and Gossip Girl.
Favorite Hobbies: Playing video games, building puzzles, and finding a good thrift store bargain
Favorite Fall Activity: Cheering on her fiancée at rugby games!
