🚨 WINTER STORM PREPARATION ALERT 🚨

A major winter storm is expected this weekend. The Washington County Office of Emergency Management urges residents to prepare now and stay safe.

✔️ Make sure your home is stocked with essential supplies
✔️ Limit travel unless absolutely necessary
✔️ Dress in layers and check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors
✔️ Prepare for potential power outages and use generators safely

⚠️ Remember: Do NOT call 911 to report power outages.

Taking a few steps now can make a big difference later. Stay informed, plan ahead, and look out for one another.

Our crews work very hard to keep Town streets clear, but there are some things you can do to help:

❄️ Remove vehicles from roadways wherever possible.

❄️ Move basketball hoops, trash cans, etc. away from curbs.

❄️ Only drive if necessary during a snow emergency event.

❄️ You are responsible for clearing snow/ice from the sidewalk in front of your property.

❄️ Snow plows angle to the right and will push snow into driveways as they pass by. You are responsible for your driveway and can avoid extra shoveling by waiting until after our crews have cleared the street.

❄️ Never shovel/blow snow back into the street.

Following these tips will help our crews work as quickly and efficiently as possible so you can drive safely!
