❤️ IN HONOR OF LISA — WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Before Foster Champs became what it is today, there was Lisa.

In 2007, Lisa opened her home to a handful of foster families. She fed them dinner, gave them a place to connect, and used her own garage to store clothing and supplies for families who needed them.

She saw a need and simply started helping.

That small group became Foster Champs of Maple Valley, and eventually grew into what we now know as Foster Champs of Washington.

Nearly 20 years later, families are still gathering. Kids are still being supported. Foster, adoptive, and kinship families are still finding a community to walk beside them.

And it all started around Lisa’s table. ❤️

As we hold our very first Buckles, Boots & Big Hearts Gala, we want to honor the people who helped build the foundation we stand on today.

We would love to see Lisa’s friends, family, former Foster Champs families, and people whose lives she touched come together for this night.

As we begin a new annual tradition for FCOW, we’re inviting Jodi’s friends, family, and everyone who loved her to begin it with us.

This is our first annual GALA!

Buckles, Boots & Big Hearts Gala—and our first year carrying Jodi’s memory forward without her.

Huge shoutout to Anjulina, Veronica and some of our new volunteers for spending time sorting and organizing all of the Back-to-School donations that have come in! 🎒❤️

There is so much work that happens behind the scenes, and I’m so thankful for everyone who shows up and helps make it happen for our kids.

We still have many kids needing sponsors for socks, underwear and shoes. 👟🧦

And this one feels extra special. ❤️

Kim & Jack Emmons of Ocean Shores Property Pros – John L. Scott have officially purchased our FIRST TABLE for the Buckles, Boots & Big Hearts Gala!

For those who don’t know the history, Kim is a child advocate and the original founder of Foster Champs of Maple Valley. Years later, after Kim & Jack moved to Ocean Shores, her heart for kids went right along with her. ❤️

Today, Kim continues that work through Don & Pat Scott’s Christmas for Kids, helping carry on an incredible tradition of making sure children in the North Beach community experience the magic of Christmas.

There’s something pretty amazing about seeing Kim’s name throughout the history of Foster Champs…and now seeing Kim & Jack Emmons on our very first sold gala table. 🥹
