And it was contagious – she touched everyone she met with her smile, her unique way of looking at life and by all of the good she put into the world. She had a deeply caring and grateful heart and sought to make a difference. She was always lifting people up, doing nice things for others and encouraging people to be themselves. Isla reveled in each and every moment of life – she lived it to the fu

Exciting news! We are sponsoring a Sunshine Cart at St.Elizabeth Hospital! A big thank you to BLUE INK for the beautiful design and wrap!

Honoring a daughter's legacy through acts of kindness. Rebecca Cameron, Lead Clinical Dietitian at St. Elizabeth Hospital, has served patients for 11 years. But in 2020, her life changed forever when her 10-year-old daughter Isla passed away from Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood.

In their grief, Rebecca and her family decided to honor Isla's joyful, kind spirit by creating the Shine for Isla Foundation, dedicated to spreading joy through small, random acts of kindness.

Rebecca brought this mission to St. Elizabeth Hospital by partnering with the Shared Governance team and Jenny Holbert, Manager of Clinical Services, to create the "Sunshine Cart." This brightly wrapped medical cart is stocked with comfort items for patients, from upgraded toiletries and cozy socks to lavender eye pillows, sound machines, puzzles, and coloring supplies.

"Isla loved making others happy," Rebecca shares. The Sunshine Cart ensures that her daughter's kindness continues touching lives every day at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Take advantage of the free youth heart screening next Wed at Sumner high school!

💔 Every year in the Puget Sound area, 3-5 kids die suddenly when their heart stops beating—no warning, no symptoms. It's called Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and it's not a heart attack.

The good news? A simple EKG can detect it. The problem? It's not part of your teen's regular physical.

FREE Heart Screening Event at Sumner High School
📅 Tuesday, Feb. 4 | ⏰ 8:30 AM - 3 PM
✅ Non-invasive EKG screening (no needles, no x-rays)
✅ CPR & AED training included
✅ Takes just 40 minutes
✅ Open to ALL students ages 12-24 (not just athletes)

Since 2004, Nick of Time Foundation has screened over 33,000 teens, detecting hundreds of heart abnormalities—some requiring life-saving surgery.

We had such a wonderful time at North Tapps Middle School Holiday Market this week! It was inspiring to be a part of the community and nonprofit showcase—and especially heartwarming to see students learning, engaging, and so excited to give back.

A big thank-you to everyone who painted a kindness rock ✨ We can’t wait to share these messages of joy and encouragement out in the world!

And a huge shoutout to the PTSA for inviting us to participate—we’re grateful to be included in such a meaningful event.

Bystanders please take action!

🚨 On June 2nd, Julieta—one of our young sudden cardiac arrest survivor members—was shocked four times by her ICD while walking on campus due to a device technician error. The shocks were excruciating, and she dropped to the sidewalk in broad daylight, calling 911 for herself—while cars drove past her without stopping.

💔 While this wasn’t cardiac arrest, it felt like it—and for many, it is. Not everyone is conscious enough to call for help.

👥 Julieta’s story is a wake-up call: bystander inaction can cost lives.
Do for someone what you would want others to do for your loved one.
