We need our community’s help once again. It seems like we just can’t catch a break lately.
One of our deputies, Steve, was recently diagnosed with cancer and is now beginning the fight of his life.
Earlier this year, his wife, Rachael, was diagnosed with lung cancer. By the grace of God, she recently completed her last treatment and is now cancer-free. We are praying for that same outcome for Steve.
If you know Steve, you know he doesn’t like attention or recognition. But to Sheriff Tate, he’s much more than an employee, and to so many others, he’s much more than a coworker—he’s family.
He’s like a big brother to all of us. Steve is always the first to step up and help, no matter what needs to be done.
He would truly give you the shirt off his back (which, if you know Steve, that’s probably a sight you don’t want to see! 😂). And his only flaw is that he won’t answer his phone… if you know, you know.
Now it’s our turn to be there for him.
As Steve begins this battle, he and his family will be facing medical expenses and other unexpected costs. We’re asking our community to come together and help ease that burden.
Steve was instrumental in the remodeling of the Pine Log Fire Station, so it only seems fitting that we celebrate the completion of this project while supporting one of the men who helped make it possible.
