Now Hiring: Executive Director | Holmes County Development Commission

The Holmes County Development Commission is accepting applications for Executive Director, a full-time leadership role responsible for driving economic development, business recruitment, grant management, and strategic planning in Holmes County.

Salary: $50,000 – $70,000 commensurate with experience
Deadline: April 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. CT, or until filled

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree or five years of relevant experience, a valid Florida driver's license, and successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.

HCDC, in partnership with the Holmes County Board of County Commissioners, has completed the sale of an 86-acre property in the City of Bonifay to Busy Bee, a family-owned business headquartered in Lake City, FL. The project promises significant economic growth for the region, with plans to develop a 55,000-square-foot travel center and additional commercial properties.

The development includes a new Busy Bee travel center featuring extensive food options, merchandise, and the cleanest restrooms along Interstate 10, creating approximately 100 jobs. Beyond the travel center, the project will develop the remaining 60+ acres with hotels, restaurants, and retail establishments.

Holmes County closes on the sale of 86 acres to the family-owned business headquartered in Lake City, FL.
