Meet Presh!

After everything this sweet girl has been through, it’s finally her turn to find her forever person. ❤️

Presh is an 8–9 year old, 12 pound Poodle mix who has undergone two mammary surgeries to remove masses. She has healed up and is officially ready to start her next chapter!

You may notice something else that makes Presh extra special she only has one ear. Before coming into rescue, another dog bit her other ear off. 😢 It’s part of her story, but it certainly hasn’t changed what a sweet, loving little girl she is. If anything, we think that one adorable ear just adds to her charm. ❤️

Presh is a go with the flow, hang out with you kind of girl. She’s happiest simply being with her people and makes a wonderful little companion.

Meet beautiful Saige! 💕

Saige is an 8 year-old, 55-pound Standard Poodle who is officially fully vetted, cleared, and ready to find her forever home!

Saige came to Sammy’s Hope Rescue with her housemate, Jolene, (can be adopted together) when their owner was no longer able to relocate with them. Now it’s time for this sweet girl to start her next chapter. ❤️

Saige is about as easy going and laid-back as they come. She’s a go with the flow kind of girl who just wants to be near her people and soak up all the love she can get.

And this girl LOVES hugs. 🥹💕 If you’re willing to give them, Saige is willing to take them! She’s sweet, cuddly, affectionate, and loves attention.

She is also fantastic in a crate, making her an easy girl to have around.

🐾❤️ A LITTLE UPDATE FROM SAMMY’S HOPE RESCUE ❤️🐾

We are still working on getting back to 100% following the storm.

Most of our fosters are still without power, and running water. Thankfully, most have minimal cleanup, but right now their priority needs to be taking care of their own families, their foster pups, and getting things back to normal.

I am also still without power and water, so things are moving a little slower than usual.

If you have submitted an adoption application or sent us a message, please be patient with us. I promise I will do my very best to respond and keep things moving forward, but everyday tasks become a little more challenging when you're without basic necessities.

The power company is currently estimating that power will be restored by Tuesday. We are certainly hoping that happens!

❤️ As far as the rescue pups go, everyone is safe and has what they need! Our fosters have done an amazing job making sure the dogs are cared for despite dealing with their own challenges. If any needs arise, we will absolutely let everyone know.

Unfortunately, we did suffer one loss during the power outage. We lost our entire supply of vaccines. We had full trays stocked, and without refrigeration, they are no longer usable. This is a pretty decent financial loss for our little rescue, and we will have to fundraise to replace them once we get things settled.

Other than that, the rescue is doing well, and for that we are incredibly thankful.

I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know what is going on behind the scenes and why things may be moving a little slower than normal.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We are doing the best we can with the circumstances.

🐾 MEET OPTIMUS! 🐾

Optimus is the sweetest little 7 pound Chihuahua with one adorable eye and a whole lot of love to give. ❤️ He is about 5 years old and is looking for a special person to call his own.

Optimus can be a little timid when he first meets you, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and cuddly personality comes out. He loves being close to his person and would be perfectly happy being the center of someone’s world. 🥰

Meet Layla! ❤️

Layla is a 12 year old, 17 pound pug who is officially available for adoption!

This sweet girl has one of the happiest, most easygoing personalities you could ask for. She walked into her foster home like she had lived there her whole life. Honestly, we've never had a foster settle into a new home so quickly!

Layla loves everyone she meets and acts like she's been your best friend from the very beginning. She does great in her crate, gets along well with the other dogs and even the cat. She does enjoy being the boss of the group, so she'll appreciate a family that understands her little queen of the house personality.

Her favorite place in the world? Curled up in your lap, soaking up all the love and attention she can get.

Meet Baby an 8 year old, 9 pound Chihuahua mix looking for her forever home. 🐾
Baby is a sweet little girl who just needs a little time to warm up. Once she gets to know you, her loving personality shines through. She loves attention, enjoys being close to her person, and wants nothing more than to be by your side.
She is very crate trained and settles in well, making her an easy companion to have in the home.

Meet Emma, a sweet Shih Tzu/Poodle mix weighing about 20 pounds and estimated to be 10 years old. She’s a quiet, chill little girl looking for a forever home where she can relax, cuddle, and simply enjoy life with her people.
Emma is the type of dog who is happy just being near you. She loves belly rubs, enjoys lounging on the couch, and will also happily chill on the floor right beside you. When you come home, she’s always there to greet you at the door, and if you talk to her, her tail immediately starts wagging. Every now and then she’ll give a few sweet kisses too. She’s very easy on a leash and enjoys calm walks and sniffing around outside.
She also absolutely loves car rides and makes the perfect little co-pilot for trips around town or long rides for a vacation.
She does bark if the other dogs bark, and she enjoys watching squirrels and cats with the other dogs in the yard. Around the house, she’s mostly a laid-back couch potato who just wants a cozy place to relax and people to love.
Emma does need rugs or traction on slippery floors because it can take her a moment to get her back feet underneath her on slick surfaces. Once she gets going, though, she does just fine.
Emma has been through quite a bit medically and has handled it all like a champ. She just had to have one of her eyes removed and had mammary tumor surgery that removed an entire mammary chain along with lymph nodes. She also had surgery to remove a large skin tag on her head and recently had a dental with extractions.
She does have a heart murmur and takes Vetmedin twice daily to help manage it. She has also recently been diagnosed with Cushings Disease and is starting on meds for that as well.
Emma also needs to lose quite a bit of weight, and we are already helping her work toward a healthier lifestyle.
Despite everything she’s been through, Emma remains a loving, gentle companion who would be perfect for someone wanting a calm, affectionate dog to share quiet days, cozy evenings, and car rides with.

Meet Pancake 🐾
Pancake is a 5-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua mix with the sweetest soul. She can be a little timid at first—like many dogs—but once she warms up, she truly shines. She’s incredibly loving, gentle, and forms strong bonds with her people.
Pancake does great with other dogs when introduced properly and enjoys calm, positive interactions. She would do best in a home with older, more relaxed children or in a quieter, adult-only environment where she can feel safe and comfortable.
Sadly, Pancake didn’t receive proper preventative care in her previous life and is heartworm positive. The good news is she is currently symptom-free and remains a happy, playful, and otherwise healthy pup.
Pancake has so much love to give and is just waiting for the right family to give her the life she deserves. She will make a truly wonderful companion 💕

Meet Cholo!
Cholo is an adorable 9-month-old chihuahua/ dachshund mix with a big personality packed into a tiny body. He weighed 8 pounds at the time of his neuter and is just a happy, playful little guy who truly loves being around people.
Cholo is sweet, affectionate, and full of fun puppy energy. He loves attention, enjoys playing, and is always ready to make you smile. He’s the kind of pup that just makes everything feel lighter when he’s around.
Cholo does have a bit of excited p*e, typically when he’s about to be picked up. This is very common in young, submissive pups, especially while they’re still building confidence. We’re hopeful he may grow out of it with time and reassurance, but we want to be fully transparent that we can’t guarantee it.
Overall, Cholo is just a joyful, loving puppy who adores people and brings so much happiness wherever he goes. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion to grow with, Cholo might be your perfect match 🐾💙
