🎶 It’s 9/25, so you know what that means... it’s 9 to 5 Day! 📚💗

Dolly Parton spent decades showing us what it meant to dream big, give generously, and invest in children. On September 25, the Holmes County Education Foundation is celebrating that spirit with Give Like Dolly Day!

We’re asking our community to help support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Holmes County, which provides enrolled children from birth to age five with a free, high-quality book mailed directly to their home every month.

Donations may be made in either of the following ways:
📚 Donate online at https://donate.imaginationlibrary.com/. Select the option to designate your donation to a specific local program partner, then choose Florida and Holmes County.
📚 Donate directly to the Holmes County Education Foundation by making your check payable to HCEF and writing “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library” in the memo line.

The Holmes County Education Foundation joins people around the world in mourning the passing of global icon and devoted philanthropist Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s remarkable legacy extends far beyond her music. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she placed millions of books into the hands of young children and inspired a lifelong love of reading in communities like ours.

Many have asked how they can honor Dolly’s memory by supporting the Imagination Library in Holmes County. Just $30 provides one child with a book each month for an entire year:

📚 $30 supports 1 child for one year
📚 $150 supports 5 children for one year
📚 $300 supports 10 children for one year

Donations may be made in either of the following ways:

A big thank you to Holmes County Commissioner Wade Ellenburg for supporting our local FFA students!

Following his Holmes County FFA Fundraiser last Saturday, Commissioner Ellenburg presented the Holmes County Education Foundation with over $4,000 to be distributed among the district’s four FFA chapters.

“FFA provides our students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore careers in agriculture, and become engaged members of their communities. We are grateful to Commissioner Ellenburg and everyone who supported this fundraiser for investing directly in our students and FFA programs,” said Carmen Bush, Vice President of the Holmes County Education Foundation.

We are thankful for community partners who continue to show up for Holmes County students!

Holmes County Education Foundation Helps Students Start the School Year Prepared

As families across Holmes County get ready for a new school year, the Holmes County Education Foundation (HCEF) is proud to partner with Holmes District Schools by providing funding for classroom and school supplies that will directly benefit students across the district.

This investment will help ensure classrooms are stocked with essential materials, easing some of the financial pressure on teachers and families while helping students begin the year ready to learn.

“The Holmes County Education Foundation exists to support Holmes District Schools, and we’re grateful for the strong partnership we share,” said Joe Rone, Chairman of HCEF. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to support our students and families as they prepare for another great school year.”

The initiative reflects HCEF’s ongoing commitment to strengthening educational opportunities and supporting student success throughout Holmes County.

“We know the start of a new school year brings excitement, but it can also bring added expenses for families,” said Carmen Bush, Vice Chair of HCEF. “Providing school supplies is one way we can help remove barriers for students and teachers so they can focus on what matters most: learning.”

The Holmes County Education Foundation remains committed to supporting Holmes District Schools through meaningful investments that help students, strengthen classrooms, and create opportunities for success across Holmes County.

The Holmes County Education Foundation is proud to announce that Peyton, an HDSB student, has been selected as the winner of our Student Logo Design Contest. After reviewing submissions from across the district, the Foundation’s Board of Directors voted to select Peyton’s design as the Foundation’s new official logo.

Peyton was recognized at the Foundation’s board meeting last week and was presented with a $250 award along with our sincere appreciation for the outstanding design.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Hunter Somerset, HCHS teacher, whose students submitted the largest number of entries for the contest.

We are grateful to all the talented students who participated and helped make this contest a success!
