We're so proud of our Project UpLift student, Leomarys, who earned second place in the BuddyBooks Summer Reading Contest after reading an incredible 25,209 words over the summer! 🎉👏

The Roots and Wings team was thrilled to present her with a 180-piece art kit to celebrate her amazing accomplishment. 🎨✨

Leomarys' mom was there for the celebration, and when we congratulated her, she quickly made sure we knew that Leomarys deserved ALL the credit! 💙 We love that!

Way to go, Leomarys! Your hard work and dedication paid off, and we can't wait to see how much you continue to grow as a reader this year! 📖🚀

Roots and Wings Expands Free Reading Program to Five New Palm Beach County Elementary SchoolsProject UpLift will serve 24 Title 1 elementary schools this year, following a year in which 96% of third graders in the program made reading gains Boca Raton, FL – August 21, 2026 — Roots and Wings, Palm Beach County’s largest local nonprofit focused on literacy and teacher recognition, announced today that its Project UpLift reading program is expanding to five additional schools for the 2026–27 academic year. 🍎 What a wonderful way to celebrate education and kick off a new school year!

Roots and Wings was delighted to be part of the 2026 DCEF Champions of Education Breakfast, celebrating Delray Beach’s public schools and the educators, community leaders, and partners who support them.

We enjoyed hearing from special guest panelists, State Representatives Debra Tendrich and Rob Long, and especially loved seeing grants awarded to local schools. We were so proud that many of the schools receiving support are Roots and Wings partner schools! 💚

There's nothing better than being in a room filled with people who believe in our public schools and the children they serve.

We're looking forward to a fabulous new school year with old friends and new ones! 📚✨
