“While recent rains have helped improve several drought indicators, a long-term hydrologic drought — a prolonged shortage of water in lakes, rivers, groundwater, and wetlands — continues to affect the region. The latest assessment found enough improvement to support small reductions in drought conditions across parts of South Florida.”
