🎬 Bringing Boca Raton’s History to Life

We’re excited to share the first of our new series of short films exploring the people, places, and stories that have shaped Boca Raton—beginning with one of our city’s most iconic historic landmarks: The Addison.

🎥 The Addison: Mizner’s Enduring Legacy
Through archival photographs and creative technology, this short film offers a new way to experience Addison Mizner’s architectural and historic legacy in Boca Raton.

And this is just the beginning! Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more short films exploring chapters of our city’s history.

To view all 8 short films, we invite you to visit: https://bocahistory.org/films/

Society architect Addison Mizner (1872–1933) envisioned Boca Raton as “the world’s most architecturally beautiful playground.” In 1925, he launched an ambitious plan to transform the small farming community into an elegant resort city, introducing the Mediterranean Revival style that still defines Boca’s character today.

Although many Boca landmarks bear his name, the only one he actually visited was the Administration Building—today known as The Addison. His grand vision was never fully realized after Florida’s land boom collapsed, but his influence on Boca Raton’s identity remains unmistakable.
