Nepal Update 🚨

Your donations are supporting children in need! FCW's native partner in Nepal has been able to reach areas affected by the catastrophic flooding.

One of the areas includes a school that was located uphill and spared from direct impact, but the surrounding community was heavily impacted. While the Nepal government has been working to locate these children's relatives, our partner is supporting them with meals and relief kits that include hygiene and comfort items.

Thanks to the support of generous donors, these children (along with many other people in their community) can have their basic needs met and feel even a little relief and comfort during a traumatic time.

Emergency in Nepal 🚨

Massive flash floods devastated the border of Nepal and China on Wednesday night (this morning, in EST). At least 160 people have been killed, and over 400 are missing.

Our partner in Nepal believes that over 20 bridges are "gone" along with 13 hydropower plants. Without electricity, communication is limited.

FCW is currently collaborating with our local partner to build a plan and provide relief where it is needed most. 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!

In the meantime, we ask that you please pray for this region. The Nepalese children under FCW's care are all safe, but many have relatives in affected areas who are unaccounted for. Please pray for the safe rescue of the many missing people, strength for the first responders and people providing relief, and comfort for all those who are grieving in the wake of this disaster. 🙏

Real-World Practice! ✂️ 💅

Last month, the FCW vocational program, Kipindi Mpito, held a “Sales Day,” where students sold their handmade goods and skills to members of the community.

Not only could these young women practice their skills like hairdressing and nail services, but they could also get valuable professional and customer service experience.

The community thoroughly enjoyed this event! Local women purchased manicures and pedicures, hair salon stylings, fashionable clothes, and fresh-baked goods. The catering treats were so popular that they were sold-out before noon! 🧁

⛳ Two days. Two great rounds. One incredible cause.

From great swings and friendly competition to laughter and fellowship, this year's Annual Golf Classic was one to remember.

When this young person attended VBS over the summer, she learned about vulnerable children around the world and how Forgotten Children Worldwide helps to empower them.

Will you join us in praying for a child? 🙏

A child in Uganda under FCW's care will be having surgery tomorrow to treat on ongoing medical concern. We pray that the procedure goes well and that the child has a swift recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Thanks to the support of sponsors and generous donors, the FCW team can ensure that over 800 children receive excellent medical care—even operations when necessary. We are incredibly grateful for the generous donors who are funding this child's procedure.

While there are many children in FCW's sponsorship program, even a single child experiencing a hardship like this weighs on all of us deeply, from FCW staff to friends and supporters.
