The Fannin County Empty Stocking Program, Inc. The Fannin County Empty Stocking Program, Inc. was founded in 1996. provides Christmas to the underprivileged children of Fannin County.

The organization is a volunteer board of directors that assists the children of Fannin County year-round and especially at Christmas. We provide a winter coat, two outfits of clothing, a package of socks, a pair of shoes, a package of underwear and at least three toys/wish list items to every child. Since 2014 we have provided Christmas to over 4,300 Fannin County children. ​​​

The organization

also awards The Fannin County Empty Stocking Program, Inc. Wishes Come True Scholarships to seniors at both Fannin County High School each year. Of all the donations we give each year, being able to award these scholarships is one of our favorite ways to help the children in our community. Throughout the year we also assist other needs of Fannin County children including providing donations to Fannin County schools, community improvement projects and assisting in case of house fires, parent deaths, medical expenses, and other unforeseen tragedies.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 240 children (so far) in Fannin County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

We are proud to be the local program partner for Fannin County for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. We are saddened by the passing of a legend. We hope to continue to shine bright in memory of Dolly here in Fannin County by getting books in the hands of many kids as we can.

Come see us at the Back to School Bash! We will be there with information on Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and school supplies!

Join us for the Fifth Annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 25, from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM at the Fannin County High School Gym.

Fannin County students can receive free school supplies while supplies last, along with access to haircuts, physicals, dental and vision services, immunizations, and more. Students must be enrolled in Fannin County Schools and present to receive supplies.

Help us spread the word and make sure every student starts the school year prepared and ready to succeed.

Due to the rear entrance (donation acceptance area) and the rear parking lot being blocked off due to the parking lot repairs at the Fannin County Empty Stocking Thrift Store Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26, and most likely Saturday, June 27 we are not going to be able to accept donations until Tuesday, June 30. We apologize for the inconvenience but it is out of our control. If something changes we will advise. Thanks!
