We’re Hiring: National Area Director

Neighborhood bridges is growing—and we’re looking for the right person to help us take our mission to communities across the country.

We’re seeking a part-time, remote National Area Director to lead our exciting new partnership with the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) and help expand the neighborhood bridges model nationwide.

This is an opportunity to be part of something bigger: connecting schools, communities, and caring people to help remove the basic-needs barriers that can stand in the way of a student’s ability to learn and succeed.

Founder and President of Mental Matters Mission, a treasured Kindness Council Member who funds youth mental health care, explains how imperative it is to meet students’ basic needs.

Not having basic needs met can affect confidence, belonging, relationships, and how students feel walking into the classroom each day. Our work to fill those gaps means life becomes less about what is missing and more about what lies ahead - learning, connecting, engaging, and a bright future.

💚 We are excited to partner with Spice Spice Baby Cincinnati again this school year to combat school lunch debt! Each month they donate a portion of their sales to ease the financial burdens of the families we assist. 💛 Please remember this local business when shopping for yourself. Their products also make great gifts!

📣 For October, our awesome community doubled their donation to wipe out overdue balances for 8 students at Sycamore Junior High.

Sycamore Bridges can be a tremendous tool for school counselors, especially as they get to know their students. Several weeks ago, we provided a gift card to a HS student who felt comfortable enough to share about their family’s financial struggles. This small acknowledgment gave the student enough trust to further open up to the counselor and begin a beautiful relationship.

Today’s delivery took us to our Kindness Council member, Sycamore Presbyterian Church - Cincinnati, Ohio. They generously spend their time collecting, assembling, and delivering weekly food bags for our most at-risk students at Symmes Elementary. Sycamore Bridges helps stock their offerings on a monthly basis (look for our monthly email with the most-needed items). We are so grateful to them and all of our donors who support these efforts to make sure our students have what they need to be successful in school and life.
