🌟 2025 Grant Recipient Highlight: Northern Star Scouting 🌟

The BCPA is excited to spotlight Northern Star Scouting’s Juvenile Diversion program, one of the 2025 grant recipients. This program was established in 1996 and provides first-time youth offenders a positive alternative to juvenile court by helping them become aware of their behavior and its impact on their community – and their future.

This funding will help them:
⭐️ Provide scholarships for youth who cannot afford the registration fee
⭐️ Help participants improve improve their self-image, teach better methods of communication, conflict resolution, and prevent a decision to break the law again
⭐️ Support and empower the youth in our community at times when they need it the most

Fun Fact: Both the author of this book as well as of the foreword were recipients of the Nobel Prize in Physics - Louis De Broglie in 1929 and Albert Einstein in 1921. Talk about credentials! ⚛️

📣 2026 Sale Update from the BCPA

After an extensive search, we were unable to secure a site for a 2026 sale. Because of the size and support of our event, we require a large space with specific features — and we’re continuing to look ahead to 2027.

Even with a delay in the next sale, we are excited to still offer grant funding in Fall 2026 to support crime prevention in our community.

📚🧩 Since we do not have space for storing donations between sales we cannot accept books, puzzles and other great Book’Em treasures right now. We appreciate those who can hold onto items until the next sale, and understand if they need to be rehomed sooner.

💙 Thank you for your support — we’re excited for what’s ahead!

🚨 Crime Prevention Tip 🚨

Do not leave garage door openers in an unlocked car - it can give easy access to your garage, and sometimes your home (if you have an attached garage).

Keep these tips in mind to protect yourself against theft from your vehicle:
- The best crime prevention practice for is to not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
- Always lock your vehicle doors and close your windows.
- If you do leave valuables in your vehicle, make sure they are out of view.

Every dollar from Book’Em goes back to supporting crime prevention efforts in our community, but we can all help make a difference with small steps like these! 🙌
