Wiccan Church of MN

Wiccan Church of MN Founded in 1989, we are a Minnesota/Twin Cities based 501(c)(3) spiritual organization which celebrates our connections to the Earth and to the Cosmos. How?

We focus on community based rituals to celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year. The Wiccan Church of Minnesota (WiCoM) celebrates both Goddess and God, embracing the many traditions and mythologies that have supported and comforted humankind since we first looked to the skies in awe and asked "What? Why?"

Our church was founded more than 25 years ago as an "umbrella organization" which ac

knowledges and honors the myriad ancient paths to Divine connection. Although much of our work is structured around current Wiccan formats and mythologies, it is by no means limited to Wicca in focus or intent. We do not, at this point, have a specific brick-and-mortar location, and typically rent our space from other organizations. The mission of the Wiccan Church of Minnesota is to:
• provide a meeting place for the modern (Neo)Pagan community,
• provide a common ground for the community by providing resources for religious and ministerial training for our members,
• promote information exchange and raise public awareness,
• maintain communications with the Pagan community at large,
• provide access to rituals for members not associated with a coven,
• provide a reference library

WiCoM sponsors group rituals for all eight focus points (sabbats), as well as for other special events and occasions. These rituals are typically open to the public. Each event is overseen by volunteers selected by the ceremonial leaders of the organization, the May Queen and Green Man, who are chosen each year by lottery at Beltaine. As have so many other community organizations, recent societal developments, primarily pandemic-related, have prompted us to curtail much of our community-level activity.

WiCoM Ostara Ritual Celebration

March in Minnesota… we know not to trust it. The robins show up and a few days later the forecast says a foot of snow. Our eyes are hungry for the sight of green leaves.

The gardeners among us know that it’s not time to plant yet - but it’s time to plan. It’s time to decide what we want to harvest later on, and get ready to plant the seeds of that crop.

In this ritual, we will dig into our late-March impatience to discover what work we need to start this spring to harvest what we hope for this fall.

WiCoM Imbolc Ritual Celebration

The cauldron of rebirth allows us to reflect, renew and regenerate. At Imbolc we bring out the cauldron and put our hopes and fears into the cauldron and bring forth something new. We need a reset of the attitude of this country. We need a kinder, gentler and more accepting vibe to spread across the land and effect change. Come and do a working to accomplish a new outlook for the US, with the help of Lady Liberty, that we may go forth together and work effectively.

MVUUC has a policy that their doors should be locked, so please be aware as you arrive that you need to ring the bell, and someone will open the door for you.

Notice: UU Door Policy

In response to recent violence, MVUUF has implemented a new door policy to help ensure everyone’s safety. The entrance door must now be either monitored or locked at all times.

If no one is stationed at the entrance when you arrive, please ring the doorbell located on the side of the entrance to be let in.

To help minimize disruptions, we kindly ask that you arrive a little early for ritual. If you arrive after the ritual has begun, someone will step out of the circle to let you in. Please be aware that this may take a few minutes.

WiCoM Yule Ritual Celebration

Yule, the celebration of the Winter Solstice, marks the longest night of the year and the moment when the sun begins its gradual return. Across many traditions, it is a time that honors the resilience of life during the cold and darkness, the slow rebirth of the light, and the deep renewal that emerges from stillness. Yule reminds us that even in the darkest season there is a spark of hope growing quietly beneath the surface, promising new beginnings, warmth, and the eventual flourishing of brighter days.

Our ritual will draw upon the strength and symbolism of Norse mythology to deepen our celebration of Yule. We acknowledge the powerful presence of Odin and the Wild Hunt—forces that sweep through the darkest nights, clearing away fear, stagnation, and the remnants of the old year. Together we honor the returning sun as a symbol of renewed hope and rising courage. Each participant will charge a crystal or personal token with the light of the Sol candle and the protective, wisdom-bearing energy of Odin. This talisman will serve as a reminder throughout the coming year that even in challenging times, the light returns, courage endures, and we carry within us the strength to move toward brighter days.

WiCoM Samhain Ritual Celebration

Samhain, one of the most sacred Sabbats of the Wiccan year, marks the turning of the Wheel into the dark half of the year. It is a time when the veil between the worlds grows thin, allowing us to honor the mysteries of death and rebirth, and to draw close to the wisdom of those who came before us. Traditionally celebrated at the end of the harvest, Samhain invites reflection, remembrance, and renewal as we step into the quiet season of introspection and transformation.

This year, WiCoM will hold a special ritual dedicated to celebrating and honoring our ancestors and loved ones who have passed. Together, we will create sacred space to remember their lives, share their stories, and feel their continued presence in our hearts. Through ritual, prayer, and fellowship, we will weave a tapestry of connection across generations, finding strength and blessing in the lineage that unites us. Mabon, celebrated around the Autumn Equinox, is the second of the harvest festivals in the Wheel of the Year. It marks the moment when day and night are equal, symbolizing balance, gratitude, and the turning of the seasons toward the dark half of the year. Spiritually, Mabon is a time to give thanks for the abundance of the harvest—both literal and metaphorical—and to reflect on what we have reaped from our efforts over the past months. It’s also a moment of release, letting go of what no longer serves us, much like the trees shedding their leaves in preparation for winter.

Come join WiCoM celebrate Lughnasad/Lammas. Both Lughnasad and Lammas are a celebration of the first of the three harvests. This is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. Historically, it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man.

We will celebrate, honoring the first fruits and taking home our own ritual to honor Lugh.

2025 Midsummer

Midsummer is when the sun is at its highest. Fruits are in and people are doing well. Come and celebrate Midsummer with the Wiccan Church of Minnesota with a Feast of the Strawberries. We will gather and eat strawberries and the accompaniments while hopefully singing Sumer is Icumen In. That's supposedly the oldest song with music that exists. And a round. How fun! Gather at 6pm, ritual at 7pm. If you are allergic to strawberries, best to stay home because you will not be able to avoid them. Bring something for the potluck afterward, though if you cannot, don't let that stop you. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Beltane, also known as May Day, is a Celtic festival celebrating the beginning of summer and the return of the sun’s power. It is a cross-quarter day, marking the halfway point between the spring equinox and summer solstice. Traditionally it is a celebration of fertility, vitality and passion, fire and light to represent the sun’s growing energy, and is a time for protections and blessings. 2025 Ostara

The Sun is back!

Join us as we celebrate the coming of springtime – it’s not here yet, but the days are getting longer and the soil will soon thaw. It’s not time to plant yet, but we start watching for tulips to begin emerging. We remind ourselves it’s still a few more weeks before the trees start leafing out. It’s a time for patience and planning, so that we will be ready when the Earth is ready.
