Good News! We plan to open up the trails at Hickory Ridge this Saturday.

We are planning to do some trail work @ 9:00 on Saturday if you are willing and available to help. So far 12 miles of the system have been cleared of branches and debris. We still have another 18 miles to clear so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. FOHRT.

03-16-26 - Trail Reports
Ski Trail - Since there is a chance of seeing temperatures close to or even in the 50's later this week, we have decided we are not going to groom the tails anymore this season.

Fatbike Trails - Following suit with the ski trail, the trails will not be groomed anymore this season.

02-28-26 Trail Reports

Ski Trail - Trail unfortunately is very icy. Skiing is not recommended. We will not be grooming until we get new snow.

Fatbike Traik - I checked it out today. It varies from dirt to glare ice. It can be ridden but studs are required and prepare for a rough trail.

02-25-26 Trail Reports
Ski Trail - We did get about 1/2” of snow yesterday on the trail. Unfortunately not enough to warrant grooming. I haven’t heard of anyone skiing but it might be OK. I’d expect it to be icy in some areas. Until we get some more snow we do not plan to groom.

Fatbike - I got a report that the Fatbike trail is riding good. Because of the freeze / thaw cycles I recommend studs.

02-20-26 Trail Reports
Ski Trail - Groomers had a long day today getting the trail back in shape. There was lots of debris and even a few trees that had to be removed. But, in the end they were able to get everything groomed and tracked. They said the tracks turned out OK but may be thin in spots. They also think the skate lane should be pretty good with the little bit of fresh snow mixed in. Use some caution however as there may be some icy areas yet.

Fatbike Trail - I have no reports on how it is. I’d expect that it’s still snow covered like the ski trail but I’d expect it to be icy so studs required until someone reports otherwise.

Enjoy!

GOOD LUCK BIRKIE SKIERS!

02-15-26 PM Trail Updates

Ski Trail - After another sunny warm day and lots of trail use we are going to hold of on any further grooming at least until the temps cool down and possibly even until we get a little fresh snow. The trail is starting to get icy in some areas, especially in the areas the sun hits it most.

Fatbike Trail - No grooming is planned. The trail is still ride quit nice as long as you ride early. Any south facing hill / trail is getting icy so studded tires are required.

Will update later in the week on trail statuses and any grooming plans.

02-14-26 Trail Reports
Ski Trail - Trail was groomed early this morning and produced a very good skiing product. We plan to groom again tomorrow morning. Skiing early will give you the best experience.

Fatbike Trail - No grooming needed. The trail is riding great. There are some icy areas starting on the south facing slopes. I did not run studs and it was fine today, but will change daily with the freeze / thaws. So,I’m recommending studs until we get some fresh snow.

02-13-26 PM UPDATE-Trail Report

Ski Trail - Our plan is to scratch up the skate lane once again tomorrow morning. We ask however that you are off the trail by noon to prevent deep ruts from forming when the temps get warm.

Fatbike Trail - No plans to groom. Same as the ski trail, please ride early and be off the trail by noon to prevent deep ruts.

02-13-26 Trail Report Ski Trail - Groomers just let me know the trail is grooming up great and sent this picture.Enjoy.

02-12-26 Trail Reports
Ski Trail - Grooming crew will be out early tomorrow morning to scratch up the skate lane. skiing should be good as long as you get out before it gets too warm.

Since we are only a weekend before tge Birkie, we will also plan to groom both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Fatbike Trail - No grooming plans. It should be good riding as long as you ride in the morning. I haven’t been there personally to see if it’s icy yet for studs.m
