Thank you, Bob and Mary Hanson, for using your Thrivent Action Team money to provide items for our diabetic guests. Canned sugar free fruit and salt free vegetables will help us create diabetic bags that are given out on Fridays.

Last Saturday we were the beneficiary of the USPS Stamp Out Hunger food drive. We received 1,783 pounds of non-perishable, shelf-stable foods. In addition, $90 was donated.

Thank you so much for all who donated food, the postal workers who collected it, and the pantry volunteers who received, dated for safety, sorted and restocked our pantry shelves.

Thank you for your generosity!

Bloomer Middle School Student Council held a food “snack” drive. They created posters to put around and made morning announcements to encourage others to participate. Over 600 snacks were collected. These snacks will be used in the weekend kids’ meals and in the Bloomer and New Auburn in-school pantries. Thank you to the students for collecting and for all who donated 😊

The Annual Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction fundraiser for the food pantry was held on Saturday, March 28th from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center on Duncan Road.
It was very well attended with over 300 people coming out.
Pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, applesauce, coffee, milk and juice were served.
For the silent auctions, there were 45 bidders who bid on over 80 items.
Between the two parts of the fundraiser, about $4,500 was raised.
Thank you so much to the UCC church. Each year, they coordinate and sponsor the workers and food for the event. We are so grateful for their generous donation of their time and resources.
Thank you to our sponsors: Wanish Sugarbush who donated the maple syrup; Main Street Café who donated eggs; Brush Sign Works who donated signs, and Lotts-a-Meat who gave a large discount on the sausage.
Thank you to all who attended and made this event such a success! It feels good to eat good food and raise money so others can eat at the same time.

Sad news about Ruby’s pantries

In a message shared with supporters, the organization said it had spent the past several months “realigning the work, structure, and focus” of Ruby’s Pantry to keep its mission at the center of its efforts and better align community needs with its operations.

“As a result, we have decided to end the operations of Ruby’s Pantry effective immediately,” the message said.
