Every horse deserves to live its life to its fullest. At Saddlebred Rescue, Inc., we're helping make that real for unwanted saddlebred horses facing slaughter and abuse. Our non-profit organization is truly unique in that we incorporate the practices of a professional show stable, but in the service of unwanted horses. We rehabilitate, train, and rehome with the highest level of care and compassio

n available, eventually aiming to find our horses a safe and secure environment to live out their lives. Saddlebreds are intelligent, energetic, graceful, and have the ability to do so much for their riders with the right care. When adopting a horse, consider a saddlebred rescue, and help give a horse a second chance. To support our program donations can be made at our website www.saddlebredrescue.com

This is the very thin mare that we bought and paid for QT for two weeks before we brought her home. We named her SBR APRIL STAR and boy has she filled out nicely. I would say he is very appreciative of her new circumstances here at Saddlebred Rescue. I feel she is looking more like a beginner horse. SBR’s April’s Star getting better and better as a walk/trot horse.

🎉Where are they now?! 🎉We heard from SBR Grommit and SBR Rex’s new mom and we are thrilled to see just how amazing their new life is! 🥰 She writes…

“Gromit and Rex are Angels, in short. Gromit already has attended an academy show with his very first rider in her second time off the lead line! He’s so incredibly trustworthy, and so so brave. He’s captured everyone’s heart!

Rex has become the king of the barn, he’s the eldest and he knows it! He has learned to eat treats, oranges are his favorite! He is so so trustworthy and dependable. He’s our “couch” horse and everyone loves riding him, and he will stand for grooming all day long! We love our big Rex!

They are both such good boys. And exactly what you said they were. You have a gift of matching horses and homes.

Wanted to thank you- your honesty and willingness to help us has made such an impact on not only these horses who are now absolutely loved and pampered, but a big impact on our barn and riders. A blessing! Thank you!!

This fall I would like to do a fundraiser for SBR at our annual Halloween party that we do. I don’t know what fundraiser to do yet, but I know my riders and families would love to be able to help more horses like these two!”

Thank you SBR Nation for helping us save these two! Without you they would not be living their best life! We can’t do what we do without YOU! ❤️

Looking for a SBR Update? We got ya!

1. How's Mark? - See for yourself! Mark is doing AMAZING 💫 Not only is his neck healing wonderfully (no pain), but his leg, which has caused him so many problems in the past with lymphodema, is almost back to normal size! 🤯 He spent the first two weeks after surgery in an intensive two week rehab at the hospital in Tampa. After that, he was moved to another rehab in Tampa where he will stay for two week before "hopefully" 🤞 heading home! He's up, he's moving around and he's on his computer doing work. It's been a miracle and we are so thankful for everyone and every thought & prayer that has gotten us to this point! 🙏

2. Who's working the horses? - Nealia was home for Mark's first two weeks after surgery while his daughters visited with him. So she was back at it managing all the rescues and show horses in the barn as normal. She is now back in Tampa for another week as Mark continues rehab. Jason, Dee, Brianne and all the guys continue to do exactly what they have always done for the rescues! The horses continue to get out, get worked, and get healthier every day! 💪

3. Who's working in the office at SBR? Well, you know just one person could never do Mark's job! So in addition to Mark working from the rehab we have Pat, Laura, MaryBeth and Kathy making sure applications are being processed, questions are being answered, DNA is being run, banking is being handled, feed, hay and shavings are being ordered/delivered and donations are being accepted and acknowledged! ☑️☑️☑️

4. Where are the LIVE feeds? Our live feeds will be back on a more regular basis once Nealia is back at home in the barn. Just because you don't see us working the horses doesn't mean it isn't getting done! 🎥

SBR is a "village" and it continues to run without a hitch as Mark takes this time to heal with Nealia and everyone else here at SBR supporting him every step of the way! 👏👏

Thank you for all the continued support! As we always say, "we couldn't do what we do, if it wasn't for you!" 🥰
