Developing young leaders to be actively engaged in building a better community, region, and world. Learn. Socialize. Serve.

The Rotaract Club of Birmingham was founded in 2004 by Mike Mahon and John Peinhardt as a means to develop young leaders to be actively engaged in building a better community, region and world. As the young professional generation grows into the role of directing the affairs of the community, it is important that our members be well-positioned to accept the challenge of helping Birmingham reach its potential of becoming a world-class city. We believe for those who are led to think boldly and affect real change, Rotaract provides a premier leadership development opportunity. If you are a young professional in the Birmingham area who is looking to grow in your career and help improve your community, we encourage you to apply for membership. An unforgettable Sip N’ Spell 👏

Thanks to the support of our generous community sponsors, we raised more than $16,000 for our Signature Service programs — the most our Club has raised in Sip N’ Spell history. 🎉

Not only was this an impactful night of giving back, but it was also a ton of fun. Six teams of spellers went head to head through 10 rounds of spelling challenges, and only one team came out on top to win the $1,000 prize. 🏆

Thank you to all of our sponsors, spellers, and cheerleaders who made Sip N’ Spell such a success! 🐝

Another huge leadership development opportunity for our members!

Board Fellows is a six-month program that places selected Rotaract members as non-voting, ex officio board members on some of Birmingham’s most impactful nonprofit boards.

Applications for the 2027 Board Fellows cohort are open now through November 12! Check your email for application details, and visit our website to learn more about this program and its impact.

We can’t wait to see what our 2027 cohort accomplishes!

We were excited to join Rotary Club of Birmingham, AL, Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, and CommunityFoundationBirmingham for mock interview sessions with The Birmingham Promise students! 👏

Afterward, we all came together for a joint luncheon, where our own Marquis Hollingsworth shared Rotaract’s mission and momentum. We also heard inspiring messages from Mayor Randall Woodfin and Small Magic Executive Director Ruth Anne Moss.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this packed event!

We’re doing something new! 👏

On Monday, November 9, we’ll hold our first Business Meeting at the Auburn in Bham building.

It’ll be a unique opportunity to hear directly from club leadership on our progress this term, as questions, offer feedback and better understand how the different pieces of Rotaract work together. 🤝
