BSA Troop 55 Billerica Troop 55 is a Boy Scout Troop
for boys (ages 10 and up)
from the Greater Billerica area. We also have monthly trips year round.

Meetings are every Tuesday (unless there is no school that day) from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Community Congregational Church at 803 Boston Road, Billerica. Troop 55 in Billerica, MA was established in 1937. Members of Troop 55 are citizens of their community and are involved in many activities such as sports, school band and robotics. All Scouts are dedicated to community service and Troop 55 ha

s produced well over 100 Eagle Scouts as a result of the dedication of its members and opportunities the troop provides. Troop 55 in an outdoor learning and adventure program that consists of weekly meetings and optional monthly weekend trips throughout the year a weeklong trip and weeklong summer camp. Although outdoor skills are often the focus, trips also include science, technology, history, and the arts. Boys from Troop 55 have gone on to a broad range of colleges and universities, as well as every military academy and branch of the armed services. Troop 55 had two special guests at meeting tonight: two Wildland Firefighters working for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation! They helped is trial the Wildland Fire Management Merit Badge, which is currently in the testing phase of development. The boys had a great time and their input will help shape this new badge program.

Troop 55's May trip was biking and camping on the Cape. Not only did the boys have fun biking, but did some great cooking! Boys in Troop 55 prepare their own meals as a group, learning many skills along the way. Skills that many of the boys take home to share with their family.

Troop 55 April Trip Day 4: Rail Trail Hike!
The boys covered over 10 miles on the trail. On the way back the boys asked to stop in Gettysburg again to find, and stand, upon the spot where Lincoln gave his famous address. Then they finished the day by cooking jambalaya with marshmallows for dessert.

What is your son doing for April vacation? Boys in Troop 55 will explore Gettysburg, a Railroad Museum, Udvar-Hazy Center/Air and Space Museum, and hike a rail trail through Pennsylvania.
