What was more fun? The park or the bike ride to the park?

We wish Tewksbury had more small neighborhood parks like this one in Lowell that kids and families could safely walk or bike to. Where do you think would be some good locations in town?

Today, Safe Streets Tewksbury sent a letter to state and local officials calling for pedestrian safety improvements on Main St (Rt 38) near Stadium Plaza and nearby streets. Last week's fatal pedestrian crash was the second this year and third in three years in this area.

No one should lose their life just trying to cross the street. We will continue to work to prevent tragedies like these from happening ever again.

Our thoughts are with those killed in these tragic crashes and their families and friends.

Today's edition of bad bike parking takes us to Tewksbury!

This grid style rack was haphazardly placed on a mulched island between parking spots and flatbed carts - making it borderline unusable. The rack used to be located under the overhang near the store entrance but was recently moved to make way for more grills.

- We would love to help you come up with a plan for safe and usable bike parking. Feel free to reach out!

Hey - We love biking over to see you! Any chance we can get bike parking a little closer to the building instead of way out in the overflow lot?

We would also recommend a more versatile and secure rack like "post and ring" or "inverted u" styles to encourage more visits by bike!

Construction has started on a much needed mid-block crossing on Main St near Oakdale Plaza! This new crossing will provide safer access for vulnerable road users to local businesses as well as adjacent LRTA bus stops.

While we wish went with their original design that included a raised median island, the planned crossing is a welcome safety improvement.

Schools don’t need bulldozers to build safer routes – consider tactical urbanism!

The MassDOT program recommends “Pop-Up Projects" designed to be temporary, low-cost interventions to improve public spaces.

How could your community benefit from pop-up bike lanes, street art installations, redesignated pedestrian plazas, or other meaningful interventions?
