Backing The Line

Backing The Line The Thin Blue Line symbolizes the relationship of Law Enforcement (LE) in the community as the protectors of fellow civilians from criminal elements.

Backing the thin blue/red/white lines, one day at a time; to provide the ministry of presence and encouragement to those who selflessly protect and serve, in California & Texas. At this time in our nation's history, more than ever, LE and by extension their families, are under attack in one way or another. The inherent stresses and traumas experienced by the LE community are many. Backing The Line

comes alongside, with heartfelt appreciation and tangible support. We provide physical, emotional and spiritual encouragement aiding officers, dispatchers, staff and their families by providing special appreciation luncheons, meals to hurting families, Hearts and Hands custom “backing the Line” baby blanket presentations for officers with newborns, Gift card and tactical equipment give-aways, homemade cookies & muffin days, pie deliveries for those working on holidays and our number one activity, ride-alongs with officers! Has God given you the desire to come alongside the men, women and families who are the Thin Blue Line? Come and stand with Backing The Line in this ministry.

Backing the Line Chaplain Briggs had the awesome opportunity to hang out for lunch Wednesday with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department. 🌮🚔

The Soccer Tacos taco truck rolled in serving up delicious tacos, cheesy quesadillas, and all the fixin’s. Even with ☔️ , chilly 💨 , and a little lightning ⚡️ trying to steal the show, everyone gathered around and enjoyed a great meal together.

Hot tacos🌮, good company, and time spent supporting the men and women who serve our community. By the end, everybody had their fill despite the stormy 🌀East Texas weather.⛈️

Just another great day Backing the Line in Upshur County. 💙🌮🚔

🙏 A Prayerful Request!🙏

We humbly ask for your prayers for the law enforcement officers in Wood County, Texas, including a Wood County deputy and a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper who were critically injured after being shot while serving felony warrants and responding to a dangerous standoff Saturday night. Both officers are reported to be in critical but stable condition at a Tyler hospital. The suspect was later killed during the resolution of the incident.

Please join us in lifting them up before God — that He would bring healing to their bodies, comfort to their hearts, and peace to their loved ones in this frightening time.

Let us also pray for the families of these courageous officers — that they might feel surrounded by love, strength, and hope as they navigate the uncertainty and stress of the days ahead.

Thank you for keeping them and their families in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️

💙 Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

To every first responder working this Thanksgiving —

LEOs, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, corrections officers, and all who wear the uniform or answer the call when the rest of us are gathering around the table:

Today, while most of America is passing the turkey and giving thanks with family, you’re out there holding the line. You’re running toward the emergencies others are running from. You’re missing your kids’ excited faces, your spouse’s cooking, and the warmth of home so the rest of us can have exactly that — safety, peace, and the freedom to celebrate.

We see you.
We honor you.
We are grateful beyond words for the sacrifices you and your families make — not just today, but every single shift.

From all of us at Backing the Line and from communities across this country:

Thank you for being our protectors on a day built for giving thanks. You are the reason we can.

Enjoy that station-house meal, that Wawa turkey sandwich, or whatever you’ve got — we hope someone saves you the best piece of pie. You’ve more than earned it.
Happy Thanksgiving, heroes.
We’ve got your back, today and always.
🦃🇺🇸

🇺🇸To every warrior who’s stood the line, carried the weight, and kept the rest of us safe — we see you, we honor you, and we’ll never forget what it cost.🇺🇸

This day isn’t about parades or sales. It’s about brothers and sisters who answered the call, stood shoulder to shoulder, and did the job no one else could.

From one nation of the free — because of the brave — thank you.

RIP Sister. https://www.facebook.com/share/1CoMV89G7n/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Chaplain Debi and her loyal K-9 partner Ruby of Backing the Line just wrapped up an intensive four-day POST Certified training conference in Southern California! Alongside 20 other K-9 teams, they tackled advanced coursework, hands-on field exercises, and high-distraction scenarios like school campuses, police vessels, loud bagpipes, and simulated gunfire. This elite training sharpens their ability to stay calm, focused, and ready to serve. Debi and Ruby are a vital support duo for the Harbor Police Department, stepping in during high-stress moments to offer comfort, conversation, or simply the healing power of a fluffy friend. Debi calls it “the power of the dog”—and we couldn’t agree more. Huge congratulations on your new certification and heartfelt thanks for the difference you make every day!

Thank you to the San Diego Harbor Police Foundation for their sponsorship of Backing the Line K9 Chaplain Ruby and Chaplain Debi!
