Maria Hammond, AHA's European Outreach Manager, lived in Antwerp's Jewish quarter. One of Europe's last remaining shtetls, it survived the Holocaust. 65% of the community was murdered in WWII. Those who remained rebuilt.

Now Islamists are targeting them again. On March 23, Iran-linked terrorists attacked the Jewish quarter, vowing to escalate.

Oklahoma just became the 17th state to BAN child marriage - setting 18 as the minimum marriage age with NO exceptions.

Governor Kevin Stitt allowed the bill to become law yesterday. We were proud to help advocate alongside allies in Oklahoma to end this human rights abuse.

We will not stop until every girl in America is protected from this exploitation.

To ACLU California Action, Planned Parenthood CA & CA legislators who blocked child marriage bans in CA: Kate Yang was sold at 12 for $6,000, forced to marry, and forced by her adult spouse to give birth at 15 & 17 without pain medication. She couldn't escape because the law saw her as a wife, not a child. Please work WITH us to protect the rights of girls like Kate.

Oklahoma moves closer to banning child marriage!

SB 504 passed the House 51-36 and now awaits the governor's signature. The bill would eliminate marriage for anyone under 18, currently allowed at 16-17 with parental consent.

Urge Governor Kevin Stitt to sign SB 504 and protect Oklahoma children.

Colorado: the amendment to SB48 protects 3% of child brides in this state. It may not even cover 17-year-olds. It ignores trafficking, the legal trap, automatic emancipation and every other harm of child marriage beyond one narrow issue.

The amended bill passed out of the house yesterday and now has to go back to the senate to consider the amendments.

Over six years ago, we helped found the Connecticut Coalition to End FGM. Today, we're seeing the results of that work with the legislature's passage of SB 259, which specifically outlaws FGM.

While we look forward to an even stronger and more robust law in the future, this marks an important and meaningful step forward that will protect girls in Connecticut once signed into law.
