We know you love the Seed Library, but supplies are running thin!

This year we've provided over 4,200 seed packets to BPL patrons. That's a lot of plants, and we hope you'll share your bounty on socials and give us a tag so we can see it!

We're taking a break while we restock our supply, but we encourage you to visit other seed libraries, including:
🌱 Rogers Public Library
🌱 Fayetteville Public Library
🌱 Eureka Springs Carnegie Library

Follow our socials to be the first to hear when our Seed Library is open again!

And if you want to help us restock, please bring the seeds from your harvest, dried and clearly marked. If you know a supplier, you're welcome to ask them to consider us as a donation spot. We've previously received seeds from our service co-founder Northwest Arkansas Food Bank as well as Bogle's Garden City, City of Bentonville Tree and Landscape Committee, and individuals from the community. So they can come from anywhere!

Happy harvest!

For adults who like young adult books (no shame!), join our Young At Heart Book Club. We meet the first Wednesday of the month in the Mary Baggett Book Club Lounge in the Community Hub.

Our next meeting is July 1 and we will be discussing Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Books are available at the front desk while supplies last! Additional copies are available for checkout at BPL & on the Libby app, but may have a waiting list, so place your hold now!

Books are provided by the Arkansas State Library & the Friends of the Bentonville Library.

_____________
About the book:

Nearly seventy years after its original publication, Ray Bradbury’s internationally acclaimed novel Fahrenheit 451 stands as a classic of world literature set in a bleak, dystopian future. Today its message has grown more relevant than ever before.

Guy Montag is a fireman. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television “family.” But when he meets an eccentric young neighbor, Clarisse, who introduces him to a past where people didn’t live in fear and to a present where one sees the world through the ideas in books instead of the mindless chatter of television, Montag begins to question everything he has ever known.

Sign your tween up for our new Tween Book Club, Drawn Together, where we'll discuss great graphic novels!

Drawn Together is a kid-friendly book club perfect for 4th to 6th graders who are ready to tackle a full graphic novel and talk with their peers, led by library staff and a teen volunteer. They meet the first Tuesday of the month from 5 pm to 6 pm throughout the entire year.

The first 12 kids to register on the BPL website each month will get a free copy of the book. Registration for the next month opens the morning of the previous book club meeting. Register at the Children's Services desk for our next discussion on July 7 about The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies.

___________________

About the book:
The graphic novel adaptation of the best selling "The Lemonade War".

Evan Treski is people smart. He's good at talking to everyone-even grown-ups.

His younger sister Jessie, on the other hand, is math smart- but not especially good at understanding people. She knows that feelings are her weakest subject.

With just five days left of summer vacation, Evan and Jessie launch an all-out war to see who can sell the most lemonade before school starts. As the battleground heats up, there really is no telling who will win- and more importantly, if their fight will ever end.
