A Visit of Hope: Checking on Our Scholarship Children and Their Families in Abia State, Nigeria โค๏ธ
On June 9, 2026, the Life Care team visited our scholarship beneficiaries and their families across Umuahia, Alayi, and Ikwuano in Abia State.
Our visit took us beyond the classrooms and into the homes of the six children currently supported through our Out-of-School Scholarship Program. We met with their teachers, reviewed their academic progress, and spent time understanding the wellbeing of their families.
We are excited to share that all six children are doing exceptionally well academically, with many maintaining top positions in their classes. Their teachers spoke highly of their dedication and expressed appreciation for the opportunity Life Care has provided.
These visits also reminded us that behind every childโs success is a family facing different challenges. We met widows, single parents, and families working hard to provide a better future for their children despite financial difficulties.
One of the most touching moments was hearing from schools and families about the difference this scholarship support has made. Some shared that without this intervention, these children may not have remained in school.
At Life Care, our work goes beyond paying school fees. We believe in walking alongside families, checking on their welfare, encouraging them, and creating pathways to hope and opportunity.
A total of six families were visited, and we are grateful to see the progress the children are making. While some families still need additional support and encouragement, we remain committed to our mission of empowering vulnerable children and women.
Every child deserves a chance. Every family deserves hope.
Thank you to everyone who believes in the mission of Life Care Children and Women Empowerment Initiative.
