I didn't go looking for a crazy quilt community.I went looking for a microschool conference.What I found — slowly, stitch by stitch, month by month — was something I didn't have language for at first.

A gathering of people who had each carried their own square of fabric through very different lives, very different traditions, very different callings. Somehow, improbably, they were all being laid down together into something none of us could have constructed alone.

Here's what I know about quilts: the most magnificent ones are never made from matching fabric.If you've ever felt like your piece was too colorful. Too worn. Too unconventional. Like it belonged somewhere else, or nowhere at all — this post is for you.

My dad was an engineer and a lawyer. No-nonsense. Logical. He owned a TI-99/4A home computer in 1981 and did not, outwardly, do religion.He passed suddenly and unexpectedly in December 2024. No prior illness. No goodbye.The day he transitioned, a YouTube window I hadn't touched started playing a galactic praise song about stars, planets, and Creation. I had never once searched for worship music online.For the week that followed, our dining room light flashed in rhythmic patterns. An engineer and amateur electrician, reaching back the only way that made sense to him.I've written about what those signs meant — and what six years of Ancient Wisdom Studies gave me that I didn't have the first time I experienced spirit contact.

I've been sitting with what Steve Young brought us last Second Saturday.
The law of correspondence. As within, so without. The external world as a holographic projection of the internal state.

If that's true — and I believe it is — then the body isn't separate from the spiritual practice. It is the practice. It's the most precise instrument we have for reading what's actually happening within us.
That's why I'm so moved by what Billy and Natalie Ledbetter are bringing on May 9.

They work at the intersection of conscious health, regeneration, and the body as a sacred tool. The timing couldn't be more exact.

Come with questions. Come with whatever your body has been trying to tell you.

My grandfather was a dairy farmer. Second-generation Czech immigrant. A man of few words and enormous hands.

When it became clear he could no longer live independently, I drove eight hours round-trip to collect his two cats — Bozo and Blackie — so he wouldn't worry about them in hospice.

I didn't know that drive would become one of the most profound experiences of my spiritual life.

A few days after I brought the cats home, a channeler at a local demonstration looked at me and said: "Your grandfather is sitting on a fence right now — one foot on each side. He feels so much better that you have his cats."

My mom called shortly after.

What happened next — my daughter's quiet certainty in the corner of her room, and what I smelled at my computer while talking to my mom that night — I wrote down for the first time.

The subconscious mind processes 200 million to 400 billion bits of information per second — through images and feeling, not words.
Your body is doing an enormous amount of work that your conscious mind never gets credit for.
