Beloit Odyssey Club Beloit Odyssey Inc. is a non-profit community organization that focuses on volunteer opportunities and events in our community.

🥞 Celebrating Our Amazing Pancake Day Volunteers! 💙

Our 2026 Pancake Day wouldn't have been the success it was without the incredible help of our volunteers!

This was Brandy Porter's second year volunteering with us, and she truly became the master of carry - out orders and raffle ticket sales! As Brandy heads off to college, we want to thank her for the time, energy, and heart she's given to our community. We wish her all the best on this exciting new chapter!

We also welcomed Tessa Mudd as one of our newest volunteers this year. From greeting guests to checking on tables, Tessa jumped right in and learned the ins and outs of Pancake Day. We appreciate her willingness to serve and be part of our team!

As a small token of our gratitude, both Brandy and Tessa received an official Odyssey Certificate of Appreciation and a Dairy Queen gift card.

We are always excited to see young people get involved in serving their community. The next generation of volunteers is what keeps organizations like Odyssey strong, and we're always looking for youth who want to make a difference. Working together today helps build a better tomorrow.

Last week our club got a tour of the Beloit Fire Department! 🧑‍🚒

Our very own, Greg Thiessen (volunteer firefighter) took a moment to share about their upgraded bunker gear along with a tour of the fire trucks! He also educated us on what it takes to run a crew during an emergency and the importance of being prepared. 🚒

Thank you Greg and fellow firefighters in our community for keeping our area safe! 🚨

Last week, the Odyssey Club had the pleasure of hearing from Beloit High School Track Coach Ryan Isbell and St. John's High School Track Coach Ed Horinek!

They shared highlights from their seasons, recognized athletes who achieved personal records, and celebrated those who qualified for the state track meet. It was inspiring to hear about the hard work, dedication, and success of our local student-athletes.

A big thank you to Coach Isbell and Coach Horinek for taking the time to visit with us and for the passion, leadership, and encouragement they provide to our young athletes. We are proud of all the accomplishments of our area track programs and wish them continued success! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏅

Last Wednesday, the Odyssey Club had the pleasure of welcoming Amber Krier, MCHHS Rehab Director, for an informative and engaging update on the many exciting things happening in rehabilitation services at our local hospital!

Amber shared insights on the wide variety of therapies available right here in our community, including dry needling, massage therapy, physical therapy, and pelvic floor rehab. It’s exciting to see these valuable services growing and becoming more accessible close to home.

We are fortunate to have these resources available locally and grateful for the dedicated professionals helping improve the health and wellness of our community.

We had an incredible program on May 13th with Beloit’s own, Nate Naasz ! It was an honor to welcome home someone who has taken his passion and turned it into an impactful career. Nathan shared his journey from growing up in Beloit to becoming the Communications, Marketing, and Scholastic Coordinator for the National Wrestling Coaches Association, while also dedicating years to education, coaching, and mentoring young athletes. His story was a great reminder that where you come from can help shape where you’re going. 💙

Nathan’s passion for wrestling, leadership, and helping others succeed was inspiring to hear. From coaching and education to national leadership roles, he showed us the importance of following what drives you, staying involved, and giving back along the way. We are so grateful he made time to visit and share his experiences with us - thank you, Nathan! 👏

Last Wednesday, our very own club member and local Chief of Police, Chad Lackey, was our guest speaker. Chad shared his journey of becoming a law enforcement officer and the passion that continues to drive him in serving others. His dedication to Mitchell County and keeping our community safe is evident in all that he does. 👮‍♂️

We truly appreciate Chief Lackey and everything he does for our area. He also spoke about the importance of supporting our local police officers, who are there to respond when help is needed most. Chad highlighted recent upgrades to our school zones, including flashing speed reader signs, which have already helped improve traffic speeds during school hours. 👏

Thank you, Chief Lackey, for your service, leadership, and commitment to our community.
