Examples include: School Marathon Program, Impact Concussion Testing and Assessing Community Health Needs. Healthcare Fundraising - Annually the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation leads a campaign entitled, Supporting Hometown Healthcare, to support Mitchell County Hospital Health System in keeping quality healthcare close to home.

Today, we remember Stan Creitz and the ways he shared his time and talents with those around him. A 22-year veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard, Stan also taught electronics and technology at NCKTC for 28 years, served at his church, and shared his passion for technology as a ham radio enthusiast and business owner. He was a lifelong tinkerer and innovator, even building his own computer from scratch in the 1970s. Beyond his many accomplishments, Stan found joy in tending his rose garden and giving his time to the people he cared about. Thank you to his wife, Sue, for remembering and honoring his life and legacy on his birthday. 🤍

Clarence and Marilyn Hake's 71-year union began with the question: “Will you marry up with me?” They said “I do” on September 4, 1950, and went on to share seven decades of marriage, raising their family and building a life full of hard work, creativity and love. From dancing in the kitchen to Ray Charles to welcoming pheasant hunters into their home at Blue Hills Lodge, their space was always filled with laughter, hospitality and the unmistakable touch of Marilyn’s creativity. Together, they built a place where family, friends and even strangers felt welcomed. Sending love to all the people that their union blessed and remembering them on their heavenly wedding anniversary. 🤍

Today, August 25, we remember Jerry J. Berkley in honor of his wedding anniversary with Eleanor Berkley. Jerry, an Air Force veteran, attorney and longtime co-owner of the State Bank of Downs, dedicated his life to family, community and service. The Berkley family played an instrumental role in helping launch the Perdue Hospitality Home, and their generosity and impact continue to be felt today. We remember Monte Albert on his birthday. All who knew and loved him knows his life was rooted in family, farming and adventure. Monte found joy in working the land, exploring the outdoors and, most of all, creating memories with Jolene, their daughters and six grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to tell his family how much they meant to him.
