Every day a student walks through the school doors is another opportunity to learn, build confidence, create friendships, and connect with caring adults who believe in their future.

Sometimes showing up isn't easy. Transportation, housing, health, family responsibilities, or other challenges can stand in the way. That's why Communities In Schools works alongside students, families, and schools to remove barriers and ensure every young person has the support they need to succeed.

This Attendance Awareness Month, let's celebrate every step toward showing up, because every day in school opens the door to new possibilities.

United Way Day is October 3!

Join us on Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM for a free, family-friendly morning filled with hands-on service projects, activities, food, and plenty of opportunities to give back!

Ms. de Leon is the best and we're so grateful for her continued impact on the John M. Stuart Career Tech P-Tech High School - Goose Creek CISD campus!

Our Communities In Schools counselor, Ms. de Leon, started the morning playing Go Fish with students before school—just one of the many simple ways she makes time to connect, build relationships, and make our Titans feel seen and valued.

There’s a reason she is so beloved by students AND staff. We are incredibly lucky to have her as part of our Titan Family! 💚

Strong communities start with strong connections!

Our Communities In Schools - Baytown Sheldon Team participated in yesterday’s EHCEC - East Harris County Empowerment Council EHCTX LINK meeting alongside local leaders and community partners.

Bringing people, organizations, and resources together is how we create stronger support systems for the families we serve.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing to connect, collaborate, and make a difference in our local communities! 💙

Our Back-to-School Drive was more than backpacks and school supplies. It was a community coming together to make sure students were seen, supported, and ready to start the year strong.

We’re grateful to the City of Baytown - Government , our community partners, volunteers, and Team CIS Baytown for showing up and putting the mission into action.

Want an inside look at Goose Creek CISD and the work happening across our district? The GCCISD Ambassador Program gives community members an opportunity to connect with district leaders, visit campuses and programs, and learn more about district operations, academics, and opportunities available to our students.

Ambassadors will gain firsthand insight into GCCISD while helping strengthen connections between our district and community.

We encourage parents, alumni, community members, business representatives, retirees, higher education partners, local officials, and others invested in GCCISD to apply!

The Communities In Schools IMPACT!!

Communities In Schools works alongside students every day to help them stay in school and achieve in life.

Last year, CIS students achieved strong outcomes: 99% stayed in school, 98% were promoted, and 98% graduated. School supplies are often one of the first supports that helps a student start strong.
